Workaround for problem: PDF email attachments in Outlook Express

You have both Adobe Acrobat 5 (the writer) and Adobe Reader 10 installed. You use Outlook Express for email. When you double click a .PDF from Windows Explorer, it opens in Reader, as it should. When you open a .PDF attachment from Outlook Express, it opens in Acrobat, which it shouldn't.


Although the default action "Open with Adobe Reader X" correctly uses Reader, the non-default action "open" uses Acrobat. Changes to the "open" action either fail or don't persist.


I do not know.

That seems to fix the problem. I do not know why. I cannot guarantee that it won't have adverse effects. I only offer it as a possible workaround that seems to work.
