Hi Everyone!

Just a reminder that the annual UAAA Block Party, sponsored by John Kost,'74, will be held in the field behind Barrington Elementary School on Saturday, July 4 right after the UA parade.

This year's parade theme, "UA: There's No PLace Like Home" speaks to those of us who grew up here, and to those who have "discovered" UA and made it home through the years. Part of the "coming home" tradition in UA is the annual UAAA Block Party, and we hope you'll join us!

REUNION CLASSES!

Remember that you can get all the details about your class reunion events right here on Bearalums.com. Just go here:

http://www.bearalums.com/Reunions2009.htm

At the Block Party, we will have a table for each class so that you can continue your reunion-ing right here with the rest of the neighborhood!

You don't need to be having a reunion to come, though! This is a neighborhood event and everyone is welcome! It's a wonderful place to see people who show up every year just to see their Fourth of July Friends!

FABULOUS FOOD!!

There will be food by All Jazzed Ribs, owned by Tom Mignery, '83. Luke the Juggler will be there to entertain everyone! We'll have inflatables and games for the little ones, and plenty of fun and camaraderie for everyone!

BEVERLY D'ANGELO AND DAN ROHRS TO BE HONORED!

We will also present our Outstanding Alumnus Award to Dan Rohrs, a math teacher at the high school. Dan is a member of the Class of 1979, and is an outstanding educator and coach. Watch for Dan in the parade! Congratulations, Dan!

Also being honored is Class of 1969's Beverly D'Angelo, well-known actress and singer, who is coming from California for her class reunion and to receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award. You'll see her riding in the parade as well!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO JOHN KOST!!

John Kost, Class of 1974, has sponsored the UAAA Block Party for the past ten years and has become UAAA's largest single donor. We greatly appreciate his generosity and the time he devotes to this great party.

Also, as president of the Upper Arlington Alumni Association, I would like to send a HUGE thank you to everyone on the UAAA Board who always help to plan, set up and clean up the Block Party: Executive Director Joanie Igel Dugger, '80; Peggy Igel Sears, '85; Shelle Studebaker Bean, '80; Jan Wallace, '74; Carolyn Casper-DuVall, '62; Mary DeCesaro Cameron, '79; Brad Sharp, '72; Julie May Jones, '69; Bob Doyle, '60; and Louesa Callahan Foster, Director Emeritus and former Executive Director, '61.

SEE YOU ON THE FOURTH!!!

Ellen Isaly Clark, '69
