William "Bud" Lanier, Class of 1978, has passed away

LANIER William "Bud" Lanier, age 50, of Hilliard, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Kobacker House, surrounded by his family and friends. Bud was a loyal husband, father, mentor and friend. He was a committee member of Boy Scout Troop #814, and was an outdoor enthusiast. He was a graduate of Upper Arlington High School, Ohio Dominican College and Columbus State Community College's Culinary Program, where he learned to be a wonderful chef. He was preceded in death by his parents William H. Lanier and Jane (Belleau) Lanier. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Sheryl (Persinger) Lanier; sons, Travis William Lanier and Justin Ronald Lanier; sisters, Lorelei (Bill) Lotozo and Jane (Bill) Mead; plus numerous loving relatives and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd., Columbus 43212.
