I knew that many of us would like to know what happen to Ellen (Kinney) Johnson so I went to her FB page and contacted a friend who had written an RIP message to Ellen. Her response follows:

"Sandra, Two days after her 69th birthday she got on a plane headed to Seoul with plans to visit friends in Thailand. About 7 hours into the flight, she finally got up to move around. As she headed for the bathroom, she collapsed (in front of a Korean medical team) She opened her eyes, smiled, and lapsed into a coma from which she did not return. The plane made an emergency landing in Khabarovsk, Russia, where she was rushed to a hospital. There she was in the intensive care ward until she died on Jan 2, 2011. Her son Paul had 2 days to be with her before her passing. She was my best friend, and a joy and blessing to be with. And she was still that lovely free spirit."
