MACKLIN Sara (Sally) Elizabeth Macklin, age 59, of Columbus, passed away Monday, June 9, 2008, at Sunrise on the Scioto. She was born February 2, 1949, in Bethesda, MD, to the late Robert D. and Elinor M. (Kane) Macklin. Sara was a 1967 graduate of Upper Arlington High School, attended The Ohio State University, Columbus State, Ohio University and the University of Dayton, where she obtained many different degrees. While at OSU, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She retired after 14 years of service with the Columbus Speech and Hearing Center in the Comprehensive Program for the Deaf. She was also a Dental Hygienist for many years during her life. Sara is survived by her loving children, Robert Stewart (Lara), Sheila Martin (Dave), and Emily Harrison (Vic); 6 grandchildren, Alex, Connor and Olivia Stewart, Sam Martin, and Zachary and Mia Harrison; sister, Patti Berendsen (Jim); brothers, Bob Macklin and George Macklin (Teri); 8 nieces and nephews, including special niece, Colleen Macklin. Calling hours will be held from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2008, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 E. Dominion Blvd., Columbus, OH 43214. Fr. Kevin Kavanagh Celebrant. Inurnment will take place at Union Cemetery at a later date. Contributions may be made in Sara's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
