It is with tremendous sadness that I am passing along this tragic news:

Linda Miller Chakeres, Class of 1969, passed away on Wednesday, May 13 around 11:00 pm EST from a massive pulmonary embolism.

Linda and her husband, Don Chakeres, Class of 1968, were married for 38 years.

Linda worked hard on our reunion committee in 2004 and had signed up to help us with this year's reunion as well. I don't even know what to say about Linda that could possibly pay tribute to the genuine, down-to-earth, thoughtful person that she was. It's impossible to believe that she is gone.

Linda will be greatly missed, and we will treasure all our memories of her: those brilliant blue eyes, her warm and welcoming smile, her "What can I do to help?" approach, her quiet thoughtfulness, and her devotion to others.

This is so sad! My husband worked with Dr. Don Chakeres, and I had met Linda on a couple of occasions. She was very sweet, and my thoughts go out to Dr. Chakeres.

Ellen- I am so sorry for your loss. I know she was a dear friend of yours.
