Response to Steering Column Disassembly?

you need to first remove steering wheel..push down on the horn ring and rotate it. it will pop off. next loosen the large retainer nut for the wheel, run it up to the end of the threads.using a wheel puller, pull wheel up to the nut, loosen puller remove nut and wheel.note the order of all springs.remove the turn signal stem. remove 3 screws holding turn signal assembly,do not loose the metal ring. unplug 3 wire connectors at lower column(2 pin,3 pin,1 pin).you will need to map the location off the wires in the connectors(2pin and 3pin).remove the wires from the connectors and pull them up through the column. there will be 1 wire for the shift indicator light left, remove 1 screw at the light housing pull it out and toss it. 2 screws hold the upper half to the lower half,2 nuts hold the lower half to the tube. there is a short bolt on the bottom side lower half that you access through a hole in the housing that releases the shifter from the inner tube. i would remove column and do it on a bench, but im not sure the floor pieces fit an auto column(because of that inner shift tube).if i can give you any more info ask i will if i can.
