Install rear quarter inside fuzzies?

Well, like the rest of you perhaps, I also found out the hard way that the inside fuzzies for the rear windows (hardtops) are stapled, and not simple snap-ins like the other six piece.
The holes on the repro fuzzies don't line-up (surprise, surprise!) with the existing staple holes. I assume I need to redrill new holes in A) the repro fuzzes to match the random staple holes, or, B) the metal trim piece holding the fuzzies. My gut tells me to drill new holes in the metal trim piece holding the fuzzies.
What did you guys do, A or B?? Regardless, got any tips on how to maintain alignment of the fuzzie while I do the drilling, i.e ends first and then "gently" aligning the fuzzie to follow the contour of the trim piece, etc.??
Thanks for your help.

What I did...

...I drilled the fuzzies to match the existing holes and bought a spool of stainless wire the same gauge as the OEM staples and cut lengths and bent them to simualte staples. It took me about three hours to do both doors and quarter windows. Well worth the time and effort.

The easy way

I picked up some really small countersunk sheet metal screws. I think they were #2 size. I used a small drill bit and drilled through the fuzzies and attached with screws. The screw heads almost disappeared into the fibers. Anywhere they were visible, I took a black magic marker and dotted the head of the screw. This took about 15 minutes and has been holding for years.
