I cannot continue to stand idley by while Mr. Smith continues to flush so many pounds down the loo. It is my opinion, as his chief financial advisor, that he has lost his mind... bats in the belfry, if you will.
He recklessly paid for the VERY expensive (and gauche) studio to record the latest release with his own money. Sadly, it's not only the worst selling record ever by put out by the Cure, it failed to recoup his investment. He could have saved a small fortune if he had listened to my advice and recorded it at Acme Sound World as I suggested.
He paid Ross Robinson to ruin his career and break-up the band that has made both of us millions. When I suggested he demand a rebate from Mr. Robinson based on the loss of fans, Mr. Smith threw me out of his mansion by the scruff of my highly starched neck - while screaming:
"I hate my fans! They're too f*cking old anyway!"
"Ross promised me new fans, God-damnit!!! ...much younger ones too!!! ...f*ck the old f*cking f*ckers!!!"
I bare no personal animosities towards Mr. Robinson, I merely wish to protect Mr. Smith's (and my) financial assets.
He insisted on taking a horrid assembly of B-list bands on the road with the Cure in the form of the Curiosa Festival, just so he could see if he was still able to out-drink the younger rockers - for seven weeks. This tour was a bigger financial disaster than his record with Robinson, as it barely broke even. His fantasy cost the festival's promoters many pounds.
I wish to make a public appeal to Mr. Smith to please return to his senses and stick to writing music while he still has some money left.
thank you so much for making light of a downer situation...
who are you?!
hahaha
too good.

Just a question. Did you write off all of the money spent on drugs as a business expense? I was thinking that would be a good idea, but it is so hard to get drug dealers to write receipts.
P.S. I am glad you are trying to talk sense into Robert:)

Dear Sir -
You forgot that each member of the Cure (minus Mr. Smith) were required to sign a contract upon joining the Cure. In the contract there's a clause that states each member is required to pay monthly dues for the privledge of being in the band.
Of course Robert Smith uses portions of these monies to offset any costs incurred touring and recording.
Mr. Smith keeps his own personal money under a rock near the Finger Lakes.
Yours Cordially,

Shit post. And I know who made it. It's a good thing you have your own board now, huh?
pa-leaese!!! If Mr Smith has not learned by no what is real and who is not...well...I would be very surprised. Number one...his finances are no one's business but his own. Get a life./ He is an adult, and he has made it this far. I am insulted for him ; that you have anything at all to say about his money. Shame on you. Let the man try to have a sense of normalcy in his life. As much as I admire him...it must suck to be under the microsope by those who have no life of their own. No wonder he wears all that make up/.......That way w/o the makeup, he can go out for dinner and not deal w/ the crap. Yay for Robert..
