airfare will be around $800-$1200 per person from most east coast cities direct to paris
and pinkcat is right, you learn very quickly to adapt to others ways of life when it means your own
survival. language suddenly isn't that big of an issue...
good luck to you all that make the trek over!!!!

I have been to a few places in Europe and have found that many people there speak english. NOw, that does't mean that they will. If you are nice to them and ask in their language if they speak english, they will often oblige...but not everyone knows english, just most do (just what I have come across). If you plan to go, just learn a few sentences in that language to help you get by and chances are you will run into some people who can help you in english.

ya'll are crazy

your local post office is where you apply for your passport - do it now cuz it can take up to ten weeks and it's their busy season.

they might be someplace around l.a. where you can get it in one day - but you gotta sit there and wait for it.

have fun!

(i sure hope the cure don't cancel after ya'll have bought your tickets)

Curelover would be right about lots of people speaking English - but its still fucking dumb and ignorant of anyone to expect it, it doesn't hurt to learn just the basics of a language, English is not the language of the master race, so get learning a bit if you're going!
Oh, and if you're flying into Paris, that is the worst fucking awful airport I've ever been to, but once out of there Paris is the best city ever - you should spend some time, not just fly over for the concert.

Expecting it is rude indeed. You can buy computer games to learn the languages and they are pretty fun. We have Spanish and French and my kids do them too...so think about maybe getting one similar to learn with. They teach the basic necessities that will help you get by.

What's the fuss?

May 27 2005, 2:36 PM

It sounds like Craig at C.O.F. over-reacted a bit.
Why should he care if Roger, Perry & Daryl were fired? The Cure didn't break up so he still has a gig, it'll just be with different members.

i think the fuss may have been roger finding out he was jobless from cof's site????
