OMG we went to see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" yesterday and I came to 2 conclusions:

1) I MUST HAVE Johnny Depp

2) I MUST HAVE whatever the hell Tim Burton is on!

I haven't gone to the full price cinema in years 'cause it's so expensive, but my boyfriend insisted we go see "Wonka" tonight, so off we went.

I'm glad I listened to him, this film is wonderful! We had the most ridiculous grins on our faces through the whole thing. Worth every penny.

I went to go see it Saturday night to a sold out crowd. I've always loved everything Johnny Depp has done, except maybe a little of 21 Jump St. (hehehe). I also love Tim Burton equally, so this combination made for a great movie! I will be buying this one when it hits DVD. I must say, Johnny Depp is a little more 'tweaked' than normal in this one....I likened the movie to an acid trip on film! Damn good stuff!

BTW, one of the previews before the movie was for Ice Age 2!!!! HOLY SHIT! I must see it! I LOVED the first one! WOOHOO!!!!

Just took the kids to see Willy today upon my oldest sons request (he is 6). A movie I was happy he asked to go see and not something like Herbie Fully Loaded!!!!

Anyway, I LOVED IT!! So much better than the original if you ask me. Johnny.....mmmmmm.

and, did anyone see the preview for Corpse Bride??? My son, after the trailer was done, yells out, "WOW! I want to see that movie, it looks so good!!". LOL He also loved Willy Wonka, great movie. We too will buy it when it comes out

"Jackson Resemblance Surprises Depp
Thursday, July 21, 2005 8:01 AM EDT
The Associated Press

NEW YORK (AP) — Johnny Depp, star of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," says he didn't base his Willy Wonka character on Michael Jackson — and is surprised that some people see a resemblance.

Depp's demure voice, pasty complexion, perfectly bobbed locks, neo-Victorian garb and androgynous air seem to present a reflection of pop singer Jackson, recently acquitted on child-molestation charges.

"A few people have mentioned it, and it kind of took me by surprise. I really didn't expect that," Depp told reporters recently, according to AP Radio. "Michael Jackson was not a sort of ingredient or inspiration for the character at all."

Depp said he based the way Wonka speaks on children's show hosts he remembers from his childhood. "How odd it was the way that they spoke," the 42-year-old actor said. "That bizarre, musical cadence to their speech pattern."

As for the bob, Depp said he figured Wonka had been a recluse for so long, he wouldn't know what a modern haircut looks like.

"I just did this sort of strange, almost like a Brian Jones' kind of bob and supershort bangs. His line of reference would be very, very dated," Depp said.

42 years old??????? He's like a good wine...hummmm

"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," Tim Burton's wildly imaginative take on Roald Dahl's beloved children's book, took in $56.2 million on its opening weekend.

Yup, my husband and I lived on it for a long time once too! If you add cheese to the top of it, it makes for a nice change and tastes good

Just went to see the movie again! My husband didn't get to go the first time, so we all went this time and it was just as good and I got to pick up on a few things I missed the first time. I must buy this movie when it comes out!

Yeah, I need to go see it again. We went the second night it was being shown, and ended up getting the front row. Unfortunately, looking with your neck cocked up is pretty uncomfortable for two hours! I need to see it again a little further back.
