what would be the use of such a thing? i'm a little disappointed, i mean, all the smarts and technology to create an adroid that looks and reacts like a human woman, but we can't seem to do a damn thing about pollution, poverty and disease.

yea i agree with you.
thats why i love Angelina Jolie so much, she does so much for the Refugees
she donates 1/3 of he money to them.
she keeps 1/3 for her
1/3 for her son
and donates the rest!
i wish more people with money were more like her.

Have to agree with with IS...
Very smart people, using a lot of money to "prove" that they can fool us into believing that a robot can be just like a person...give me a break...i know that there's a lot of amazing people out there trying to solve the problems of the world...but it's never to much...the more the merryer...

If you gotta ask "how come they don't" the answer is usually "money". (Heinlein, there.) Anyway, this would probably end up making tons of money. Attractive, mechanical, female... there'd be a market for it, so it was pursued... One day, the frivolous expenses will be much less than the money that goes to social/health causes. I'm not holding my breath until that day, but I'm still wishing on the stars I see it before I die...

that's true in the sense that some fields are hotter than others and much more money is invested that's why there are more scientis working on them, robotics and nanotechnology is an emerging field and there's no doubt that there will be an increasind demand for scientist in thos fields. Now if we go to the health issues, if this dumb president worry more about spending money in biology, biotechnology and microbiology topics that can help to solve health problems instead using the resources towards war, there would be a very high increase in disease research. I was just thinking bush opinions about stem cell research, if you stop a possible solution to help diseases in mankind there wont be any progress.
