Interesting story...

So I'm hanging out with my friends last night at the Interpol's after party (by the way, Interpol's concert at the Greek Theater here in LA last night was...one of the best experiencies of my life.)
So my friend, who's a very very funny/crazy guy was telling us that he was backstage at curiosa last year, rolling on ecstasy, he saw Sam (interpol's drummer) getting in a elevator, he gets in it with him, introduces himself and starts quoting Joy Division's songs to Sam, Sam gets out of the elevator, walks into Robert's dressing room, my friend follows him, Sam looks at him and goes, "man, u can't come in here, this is Robert Smith's dressing room", so he waits outside for 5 minutes, walks in, Robert is playing cards, he tells Robert: "Robert I love u, can I give u a hug??? Robert's body guard jumps on him and literaly kicks him out of the room, so my friend runs down the hall, and before he turns to take the stairs the body guard throws a beer can right in the middle of his back. LOL...oh God, maybe it doesn't sound as funny as my friend telling this story himself, but, just wanted to share...

That story kind of makes me sad. Throwing the beer was unnecessary. I'm mad at Robert for allowing his body guard to behave that way to a fan.

That was a no no.
Not cool

I know what u mean, that was unecessary, but the way my friend told me was funny...
And he didn't get mad...which shows how freaky he probably was...but it doesn't justify throwing the can...i agree...

then again, I wouldn't walk up to Robert and say I luv u can I have a hug? Just a little freaky. I understand why he was tossed.
Your friend seems like a funny guy

Hey Pink! What I want to know is, how do you get backstage to all these afterparty things, etc.? What kind of connections do you have? I'm seriously considering moving to L.A. to hang with YOU so I can meet Interpol!! Hahaha! Good story by the way.

LOL!!! I'd love to hang out with you headsonfire!!! We can definetely stalk Interpol together...hehe...
I have two friends that are able to hook me up once in a while. One owns a record label, he represents Paul Okenfold, Deep Dish, etc... So he knows a lot of people in the industry. And my fiance produces a tv show in which Srtyker (from KROQ) is the host, so he can hook us up with wennie roast, inland invasion and accustic christmas. I don't really care about backstage, unless if it's Interpol or The Cure... but of course...
Now that Cure and Interpol are going back to the studio, that means two great tours next year...oh my...
I'm seriously planing on following them around a bit...I HAVE to do that before a die!

robert should have beaned his bodyguard with the can-o-beer if you ask me!
(for letting someone barge into his dressing room)

i'm sure your friend is a cool guy and all... but, honestly - i think it was pretty balls-y for him to walk into someone's dressing room uninvited. that's their private area.

what if robert was in the middle of his nude yoga workout, or rolling a hooter, or trimming his pubes - or something like that?!

Boring comeback

When we were @ Kimmel it was my friend's 21st birthday. So I made her make a sign that said it's my 21st birthday and we stood outside the tourbus and smiled for a while. Then his bodyguard came out and gave us cokes. He was nice but we couldn't meet the band. I was happy that he even acknowlegded us...Ahh memories with me and the cure coke. But I didn't get anything thrown at us. And I met him the next day. Your friend should stop rolling. Doing drugs makes for bad decision making....And you get things thrown at you!!! But it's still funny. This was taken at the hotel right next door.
