i've been going to freaky concerts so long that - well, to be honest...
it was really kind'a weird being around 22,000+ regular people

and bono needs to shut up w/ the preaching.

it was pretty cool to hear them play out of control for the first time in 25yrs

Preaching is his second job by the way, but i don't mind. unless he keeps on singing.

I went to 3 U2 concerts, 2 in brazil (in a row) and last time they were in LA a few months ago,
I don't mind Bono's preaching, it's part of who he is...I think he is still hot, and a U2 concert is an experience...so many great songs that are part of our generation...My manager hooked us up with pit tixs here in LA, we were inside "the heart"...so cool...we could touch Bono's feet...hehe...

I went to the U2 concert here in Minneapolis and I thought it was pretty good. The strange thing was that they opened with Vertigo and ended with Vertigo. Played it twice. Yep.

Indeed I'm a lucky biatch when it comes to concerts tixs...Sometimes I have to pay good money for good seats on ebay (like I did for curiosa and the last Interpol concert) but I always find a way to get backstage or hospitality room passes to make the expirience complete But yeah, most of the time I get good tixs through peeps I know, like last night I went to see Foo Fighters (that I loooove!) and this producer who works for my fiance is best friends with Dave Grohl's wife...so we had the whole hook up...I'm pretty spoiled, but I do appreciate it, more then most people that have all the hook ups and don't really care about music, not my case, I'm always the dork taking pics with the lead singer...

hmmm....I just could really never stand U2.
For some reason when ever I hear Bono sing it makes me wanna throw-up.
I really hate the preaching and him going all the way around the world having people taking pictures of him with the little poverty kids for publictity.
When ever you see Bono in a mag. with him in Africa he's always with some little kid where someone's holdng the camera and saying 'cheese'.
He just keeps talking and wont shut his fucking trap.

No autumn you wrong, really really!!! He really believes in what he does. It's not for business, not to show himself. U2 don't need it. If you read something about his biography (Bono on Bono) you would understand.

i only went under duress - and since it was an all expense paid excursion, i agreed. as far as i'm concerned, they haven't recorded anything worth buying since october.

i really resent an insanely rich rockstar (bono) telling me to give my hard earned money to aids patients in africa. people in africa need to make some MAJOR cultural changes if they want to get a handle on their aids problem (ie; stop fucking w/out condoms). in their patriarchal society, women have no say in their lives and stay pregnant.

i contribute more $ to charity than most people do, but am VERY picky about who i give to (humane society, salvation army, union mission). it HAS to go directly to the people in need, not some corrupt government henchman.

Like we say in Brazil...opinion and taste is like having an ass. Everyone has (a different) one...
I agree that the problem in Africa is way deeper then the "results" that we see...
But I also agree that getting angry at Bono for trying to do something about is not right. If people with that kinda of power (like Bono and Angelina Jolie) don't use their voice to some important cause, people criticize them, if they do it's because they want publicity...it comes down to how you want to look at it...I help a lot of people as much as I can, I've never send any money to Africa, Bono tries to raise money, there are a lot of people out there with tons of money to spare, maybe Bono is asking those people to help...
But, it comes down to the music, I LOVE "All that you can't leave behind" and "Vertigo". (the last 2 albums)...and I think that Bono ROCKS! But that's my opinon...(or my ass )
