Does anyone else like them? This band is pretty new to me but I really like them. They've got kind of a Bauhaus sound, and list The Cure as an influence, as well as other greats.

I was thinking about your words at Andy Warholl, of POP Art, the BauHaus, & is a similar-time, Frank Lloyd Write, Le Courbousier, I was thought is nearly seems at another Art-exppression (the Cure's sounds).

OMG!!!!!! It's official!!!!! They fucking rock!!!!!!! I saw them last night and they are soooo good live!!!! It was in a really cool small venue...Me and my friends took forever to live the place, and when we left, Justin and his friends were living at the same time, and it was so cool, nobody was waiting for them outside, so he left through the front door, and walked to the parking lot, they were walking right behind us, and the guy who was selling fake t-shirts tried to sell him one...LOL...The guy had no idea he was the lead singer...Me and my friends looked at him and his friends and we all started laughing so hard...AND it ends up that Justin knows one of my friends from back in the day......Justin was just like...hummm Ricardo....remember me ????!!! My friend was like, oh my god...Justin, I know you, you worked for me long time ago (he had no idea was the same guy)... Hehe...it was funny...

They've been around for a long time....longer than Interpol....And let me tell you something my son...there's NOTHING new under the sun...everything's been done before, and the reason why I like them, IS the same reason why I love Bauhaus, Joy Division, Interpol...and I'm glad they all have the same sound...

to compare them to these bands is an insult to them

well, i agree they make crappy music... but clearly, that's what they are trying to do! just like d-mode did in the beginning: oversimplified, synth, beats.
postmodernist deconstruction: i think that's part of what makes them fantastic!
that's a big part of what was cool about the alternative scene in the beginning: it's simplicity was exagerated.

and i disagree they are worse than interpol. interpol sucks, because they are trying to make good music and they can't. they are trying too hard to be something they can never be. i never cared for them much. like marilyn manson, there's not much beyond the cool look.

SWR couldn't come up with there own style so they emulate other bands
and try to get big off of other bands success.
there music is stupid and crappy.
Interpol also sounds like Joy Division but.. they at least sound good!!

yeah but out of control is a damn good song :P get over the fact that the song rips off the cure's keyboards, joy div/interpol vocals, its simply a good song rest of the album is alright.

I really like SWR I tried to get tickets to the portland show last Sat., but they were sold out. I like the dance synth beats, along with the Cure sounding guitar. I think their lyrics are good, I like the fact that women are the subject of most of their songs. I think that Interpol has more of a punk sound, with the drumbeats and distorted guitar, where SWR has more of a New wave dance remix sound.

Who was the band that everyone loved before She Wants Revenge? I can't remember but it was the same band theory.

Make music already made that KICKED ASS when it was original.

I admit I listen to them on the radio in my car but I actually would be happier listening to my 80's station on yahoo launch. Or The Cure station. Cuz when I hear the newer bands I feel like it's a cover song...But these newer bands miss the point. Member when we all heard those cool 80's bands for the very first time. How incredible they were? How we all knew if it was Thompson Twins, Pysch Furs, Echo, Depeche, The Cure. How the females all had different styles too? We knew if it was Blondie, Siouxsie, Altered Images, Pretenders, etc???? But now they all sound like concept bands. They aren't getting the point. It's not original anymore. At least when John Lydon didn't have the Pistols anymore he did something completely different like P.I.L.

I would LOVE for something to different to come out. Not some band with a new name but a new tune...

What you say is so true! I remember back in the days i would enjoy listening to the radio,
but now'days i don't really like the radio cuz music isn't that good anymore.
newer bands like Audioslave and Staind kick ass to me cuz they have there own styles but all the new music is just bleh! ach!

well Staind yea i agree most of there music sounds the same but!
his lyrics are meaningfull and from the heart and thats what makes them such a wonderfull band!
cuz he sings from his life and heart and doesnt follow some stupid music trend.
and if you ever watch em live OMG arron gets so into his music and lyrics it is emotional
you could see all the emotion just flowing through his expressions when he performs, it is trully touching!

we should start a "how the cure ripped off new order" thread or "how robert ripped off siouxsie's looks" thread or "how the cure ripped themselves off with certain songs on the self titled album" thread.

seriously, what difference does it make that she wants revenge is not original? neither was interpol, the killers, modest mouse, the faint, list goes on and on and on. all she wants revenge did was blend the sound of the killers and interpol to get more close to the joy division, new order, cure sound they did us all a favor. so instead of buying the next interpol and killers album, we can simply just buy the next she wants revenge album. its like a 2 for 1 deal. can't beat that!

art builds on art. People can pretend that it doesn't. Music is included. Unless you were the first one to decide to extend a note in your voice or beat on a tree trunk, everyone is pulling from the same source. So, some like one thing and others like another. Variety is good. I consider everything variations on a theme. Which variation I like or you like really shouldn't provoke us all to this long a discussion sometimes, I swear...

I keep thinking of The Kids in the Hall sketch in which the premise was a man truly asking to get beat up. One of the breaking points in getting the guys to turn on him was, "And I hate your music." We people are so emotionally charged by our taste in music. Silliness, I tell ya.
