im not sure if they will be too popular here but i love them, they are my favourite band followed by the cure. they are two very different bands but i have a varied taste in music (well rock music anyway, the ramones are next). so are there any other white stripes fans here? this year has been pour album wise and these (and the white stripes forum i go on) introduced me to some amazing bands like the soledad brothers and blanche. if all youve heard are the singles i recomend you try and hear the first album, as raw album as your going to get.

i kind'a think the racontuers sound a lot like the white stripes. to be honest, jack relies on the same composition elements over and over and over, so...

but i love the fact that he's such a wild-ass, and i think his formula works overall.

plus, he claims his influences to be the same bands as we grew up with as well, so i can relate on that level.

i'm just sick of the cookie-cutter powerpunk crap that is being marketed to the masses these days. that scene died after the offspring, as far as i'm concerned.

the racs dont sound like the white stripes, i have the leaked album and all tws ones and the only song on broken boy soldiers (which is brilliant by the way) which sounds like a white stripes track is broken boy soldier. i still prefer tws though by quite a bit, they have put out 5 amazing and diferent albums (the difference between the self titled and get behind me... is remarkable) all fantastic in their own way, as for the power punk thing, id call gren day pop punk (read:crap) but not tws.

so anyone else get the racs album? or planning to?
