Marie Antoinette and The Cure!!!

Now I don't know how many are actually aware of this but I guessed I would share anyway.

The forthcoming Sofia Coppolla film Marie Antoinette will feature 2 Cure songs, and interestingly not the cliche Cure-movie songs that we've seen in the past (i.e. Mint Car, Love Song) but 2 of The Cure's greatest and most cherished - Plainsong and All Cats Are Grey.

I have to see this film merely on this news, though to be fair I am quite a fan of Sofia's work so far, I thought Lost In Translation was fascinatingly minimal and interesting!

I've always thought Plainsong would sound even better to film, its just one of those epic type songs, you know!? Even my brother thinks it sounds like moon-landing music!!!

Anyway I await with baited breath and Sofia my dear you have great taste!

Sofia coppola must have been the only director ever to use my bloody valentine songs in a film. Not only is lost in translation a BRILLIANT film, but its soundtrack is also absolutely fantastic.

I didn’t know about her including the cure in marie antoniette. I cant wait to see it!!

i wanted to see the film even before i heard about the cure songs - that will just add another interesting element to it.

she was such a self-serving primadona - i expect it to be a very entertaining film!

(i bought the soundtrack from lost in trans immediately after we saw the film)
