so, like - did anyone buy all of the re-issued cd's?

i could only afford one, so i opted for blue sunshine - disc 2 is pretty fantastic. i really enjoyed the rsx vocal version. it's extremely cool to hear how it might have sounded (if rsx & severin hadn't taken the project as a joke and put some effort into it). so, i guess it was worth $25. i really want the others too, but i'm broke.

i was a little suprised because, for the most part, the re-issues have been great.
but the demo parts were only good for one or two listens.

why do you call him RSX? and ive been considering getting the gloves album, is the original good? i think im going to get the cure albums all on vinyl so would do the same with this

I'm not just a little broke. I'm sinking fast and avoiding answering the phone broke... It'll be a little time. I want them. I never bought them on anything but tape. I'm stingy like that. I have a hard time convincing myself to replace everything on CD - even if my tapes are really terrible. But I want these. Actually, my Blue Sunshine is on vinyl, but something got on it and it skips through a few songs... I'll probably get that first. Then The Top, since I adore that one. The other two will come in time...

it's bloody awful. save your money for the remastered cd, which is brilliant. cd 2 has the same songs but w/ robert doing the vocals.

we listened to the original version once back when it was new. it was novel & slightly entertaining, but i don't think the album has seen the light of day since.

i really want the kmkmkm & hotd remasters bad. but, alas... it'll have to wait

meh il leave it then. i only have a couple of cure albums but am going to build the collection up on vinyl, head on the door next for me

Actually the original Glove album has seen the light of day before. When it was first released in 1983 and then as a re-issue in 1990. So this is the 2nd time it's been re-issued. Not sure what I think of Robert's vocals on it. It's like oil and vinegar. Apart they are great but, together they just don't blend. Maybe I've just gotten used to Jeanette's voice over the years.


Oh and in reply to the question. Yes, I did get all 4 re-issues at once.

fyi: if you plan on buying them at frys, call ahead to make sure they are in stock.

i just went all of the way over there to find out they only had the glove in stock. BOO TO THAT!!!
but the guy was a big cure fan, and was very nice about it...he said he would call me when the other three came in. but yeah...call ahead!

Deep Discount CD is slooooow.

I dont have any of them yet but I have heard the live version of Sinking on the 2nd CD from Head On The Door and that was brilliant!

i want head on the door so much but it picked a bad time to come onto my want list. new dylan album take priority (for now)

i just checked out the glove, holy crap! awesome. im actually going to work out and get the reissue for them, im so keen il order it tonight. even though it means im going to have to settle for the new dylan on cd :`(

I'm not so much into the demo's and shit but the live versions of the songs
are great!

Bought The Top. Looked at three places to find even The Cure reissues. The Glove is going to be tough. Fuckin' Kentucky... And holy shit, just that one CD was quite a chunk of change. There's not a whole lot of disposable income around here, to begin with. The liner notes for The Top... leave something to be desired. But it sounds nice.

got 2 of the 4. HOTD and Glove. Only listened to Glove CD2 so far. As far as original Glove goes, I always loved it. This Green City, A Perfect Murder & Mr. Alphabet Says are fantastic. Plus all the cool sounds that pop up throughout the album are a trip. For what it was, a drug induced, sleep deprived, attack on their senses, I think they got exactly what they wanted minus Roberts vocals (except the 2 he did sing).

I love Borders....
