Cure Survey-New Release and the Summer 2k5 Shows

Hey I was just wondering if you guys had a say in the decision..

Would you rather buy a DVD of The Cure's Summer 2k5 Festivals before the new release?

Or would you rather buy it with the new CD if the new CD had about 16 tracks on it instead of the average 10-12? The Summer Tours would be companion DVD. This would mean the new album would be as much as the reissues at least...

I just think it would be great to have the live Cure and the studio Cure packaged together...AND they have NEVER done that...

hmmm, i want the new album to be released on vinyl so i wouldnt get the dvd with it if you could only get it as a bonus disc with a cd. i think i would rather the dvd come seperate that way if you dont want it but want the new album you can. i have to be honest, im not too fussed on getting the dvd as i still need to get most of the albums. so yeeah, i want the album on vinyl more than a bonus dvd.

i hope that makes sense

I'm not keen on the festival DVD idea. I didn't see any of those, and it won't have much emotional appeal right now. Especially while our financial situation remains dire. I'll be ignoring that for a while. I'll scrape and scrounge for the new album. I'll be buying vinyl first, too. The DVD together with it will be ignored (again while finances are strapped.) Why? Because there will also be a live NIN DVD at some point for the With Teeth shows (and because my computer sucks as well as the fact that not all the videos have been offered on nin.com, I am really hoping the Peter Murphy/NIN collaborations done for the radio shows will be on it), of which I saw two shows. More emotional impact there. I'll pull funds together to get that. I have to pick and choose what I spend money on. And anything that drives up the cost of the new album will irritate me into ignoring it for a while. I certainly hope if this idea were reality, there would be the non-deluxe editions without the DVD also offered...

i recomend either downloading it or settling for the cd version if funds are tight. vinyl is alot more expensive i think with modern releases take this for example: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000GRTREC/026-1630931-6670839?v=glance&n=229816&s=gateway&v=glance

im definetly getting it but its £8 more than the regular non extra dvd cd, thats a bit of a piss take if you ask me. i only recently (i.e 3 weeks ago) got a record player but i already prefer it quite a bit and am now trying to get all the cure albums on vinyl rather than cd.

thats a tip for any new cure fasns here too, if you have a record player get them on vinyl of e-bay half the price and nicer sounding.

Hm, The Cure was actually pretty darn cheap on vinyl. I bought the vinyl and then the bonus with the video outtakes - I recorded the vinyl to tape (I still had a tape player in my car, anyway) and just forgot about the CD with bonus stuff. I'll compare prices, most definitely, but I will scrounge for vinyl before I'd scrounge for a bonus DVD with the new album.

I would definately want the new CD before any more live DVDs... especially if they are festival shows, they are never as good as one-off concerts.

wouldnt the albert hall show make more sense for a dvd? plus you get the bonus charity thing which will be good publicity if they donate some of the profits to the charity. i would buy that because i really want the show, i know there is a bootleg aroiund if anyone wants to trade for white stripes bootlegs im willing

FYI: the RAH show was professionally filmed, so i would expect to see it on DVD at some point.
