long time no see, falfax.
oh yea, re: rsx shades -
they were ray ban wayfarers (or fake wayfarers, which were common @ the time). it was really a strange look for him because english ppl don't wear sunglasses. that's how you tell who's a foreigner in london.

What, no one in England has problems with their eyes taking in too much light? My overdilated eyes would give me away. I can't see even on overcast days without dimming the light. I guess Depeche Mode, Sisters of Mercy, Robert etc. were freaks from the start, then!
Yeah, I personally never needed sunglasses in England, either. It just never seemed as sunny there... You'd probably still occasionally need them for driving, though.
When I got back to Colorado, I had to buy some as soon as I got here... I thought my eyes were gonna melt!
Sunglasses are great even if they are a cultural rarity. I know I wore mine all the time in London.

some in the uk wear sunglasses now, - but before the baywatch-ization of england, no one in england ever wore shades... no one
(except rock stars who had been to america & learned how to hide their dialated, red eyes)
my old boyfriend used to say everyone (in london) could tell i was american because of my sunglasses.
HA!
alas, that was before your time farquad!
that was back when england was still english :-/
