Wish album trivia question

Ok, so over the years I've lost the sleeve to my wish album, but I'm trying to find out some info about it. I checked every non fan driven site in the entire universe, but......nothing....at all....

Finally, 3 pots of coffee later, I woke up and my brain started working, and I realized I was going about this all wrong. If anyone could help me with obscure album cover details it would be a fan....duh.

So this is it:

Somewhere on the inside of the sleeve, I think near the credits, is a quote. I'm 99.9% positive that Robert Smith is the author.

If there is anyone out there that would do a fellow fan a huge favor and pull out their copy and post the quote and author for me, I will literally bleed for you and endure an entire week of celebacy in comemoration of your charitable contribution.

I will post pictures of my wound and of my very irritated lover, as evidence.

Thanx

I would love to help, but I've already packed all my cd's away... I'm sure one of these other lovely people will be able to get the info for you. Sorry!

There is a quote by Shelley at the end of the credits and thanks.

'we look before and after,
and pine for what is not;
out sincerest laughter
with some pain is fraught;
our sweetest songs are those that tell
of saddest thought...'

After that is the copyright and then the lyrics to the songs.

Thank you very much, Pyra.
I was trying to remember and quote it to a guy who was trying to convince me that "darkness" in the figurative sense, is a dispensable aspect of life, that we would all be better off without.

I disagree, of course, and feel that light can only be defined and validated in full, by comparing and contrasting it to darkness. The only way to completely describe what anything is, is to also describe what it is not. what is day without night to give it form. One cannot fully comprehend and appreciate the feeling of joy, until they have experienced what it is to feel sorrow. We don't trully know how to cherish something we value, with our whole being, until we know what it means to loose something we hold close and dear.

Thats when the quote came to mind, but I fumbled it, and couldn't 'cite it properly.

Once again thank you, pyra. It was making me insane.

You're welcome.

If you've ever read a story with no conflict - no darkness - it always comes out fake and stupid. Some children's shows try to be completely devoid of anything unpleasant, but not even my kids like those shows. The idea of being able to dispense of the darkness amuses me. If your friend figures out how to do that, make sure he or she writes the book so the rest of us know how to do that. I mean, you'd have to live in a perfect little place devoid of any connection to the outside world, ever. I've been told by a few rather fanatical religious people that no one should be exposed to dark music (The Cure can apply, but it was an argument over Nine Inch Nails, in 1995, that I remember most vividly.) The causation/correlation confusion, again. The world has dark spots. Art reflects that, much of the time. It's always been a comfort to know I'm not the only one paying attention. I think it would be dangerous to blame the art, when reality proves its own darkness all the time. Pretending it doesn't exist doesn't help fix anything. And the not so great times certainly make the good times that much sweeter. There would be no appreciation for the good without the bad. Think of spoiled children who are never told no. They have a tendency to think the world is coming to an end over very trivial things, especially when they grow into teenagers. People who don't experience or witness others with great pain tend to bellyache over petty things. It's a matter of perspective and appreciation.

And stories without any dark spots lack the appeal of those that do. Songs, too.
