did anyone catch the korn uplugged gig this weekend?

i have to say, it was really good!
i never thought korn had any talent, but their whole set was great (they should shut the f*ck up and play unplugged more often). it was funny to see rsx singing IBD all angry-like! he was trying to out-sing johnathon, i guess. why did simon sit on the floor behind everyone? hm-m-m-m, strange.

of course, all they had to do was just stand there and be gorgeous - all of the guys in korn are butt-ugly, so it was easy to differentiate between the two. korn has got to be the ugliest band on the face of the earth (even uglier than GnR). i figure the reason they wear masks is because they're so damn ugly. either that or they don't want their other boss (paula abdul) to find out half her band is moonlighting (in korn).

plus, i swear, they are the guys who cut down the trees in our yard last fall(?)

we went to see them in concert a few yrs back, and it was one of the worst concerts i've ever been to. we spent most of the evening walking the corridors just to get away from the conundrum. their whole live set revolves around hair-flinging in unison & screaming. don't get me wrong, i love headbanging music. but their concert was sh*t. so i didn't expect the unplugged show to be very good. it was a pleasant suprise!

I realy do like Korn, and I thought the unplugges set was incredible. The glass harmonica was so eerie. Robert looked and sounded great, of course, and seemed to be enjoying himself. My husband was laughing about Simon, he said poor Simon was thinking "oh shit, I'm totally out of element - I'm not dancing on the edge of the stage!" Porl looked happy and Jason looked as spacey as ever. Maybe Simon was just being his shy self... Either way both bands were wonderful, and Amy Lee too, and The Cure's part impressed some Cure-disliking Korn fans I know. =)

Well I know they are not the best looking guys on the planet.
But I think you are confused by the fact that they don't wear masks.
Slipknot is the band with masks Korn is the band with dreads.

I love the Cure KoRn and Slipknot.

but most of all I love the Cure

my Korn friends tell me that the ones in masks were the guest musicians, not regular band members. I enjoy Korn's music but I'm not that familiar with how they look. I also hear that Jonathan Davis plays some mean bagpipes and that makes him pretty ok in my book.

Korn played acoustic for Kroq breakfast...My roommate said Jonathan was really nervous about asking Robert but Robert was nice. I'm sure there's more about the breakfast on a Korn site somewhere...

well, there's something about bagpipe music that always gets me choked up. so, yea, i'll agree with you that it makes him ok.

i figured the masked musicians were fill-ins. I wonder was it roger in the horse mask? actually, the bunny guy sang bkground so well, he seemed like part of the band. plus, they looked comfortable playing - and the main three guys looked like they were having a VERY hard time holding back the hair-fling (in unison) routine.

even though their previous 3 cd's were crap, i think i might buy this cd - i've been singing coming undone every since i heard it the other night.

korn - hair-flinging/screaming = pretty decent band

NOT BAD....I think I like them better unplugged too!

UNFORTUNATELY I saw ALL the song EXCEPT the Inbetween days b/c the MTV website was f-ing with me...LOL. OF ALL THE SONGS TO NOT WORK! ugh....

BUT no worries we tivo'd it last night and I hope to maybe have a little treat later this afternoon =)

Folk, I love the Cure, too, but that korn thing was embarrassingly bad. THAT'S WHY SIMON WAS HIDING. Go Cure! Give us a new album. I don't care if Miss Piggy produces it, just not RR.

simon hates rr passionately.
he probably hated working w/ rr's main paycheck (koRn) too. maybe rsx made him sit on the floor becuse he was being insolent: "JUST SIT THERE & ACT LIKE YOUVE GOT SOME SENSE!" he should have worn a paper bag over his head in protest.

Just watched it and WOW talk about intense...I dont think I have seen that much aggresion in roberts singing before. I kinda wished that johnathan would shut up when they were doing the inbewteen days bit...LOL. My hubby commented on how neither of them looked at eachother thru the whole bit. I told him Robert is just that kinda guy and that johnathan was probly too nervous b/c he was singing with robert to interact.

Liked it though...I cant wait to see Robert in person again! WHEN O WHEN WILL THAT BE??? LOL I remember I was all worried that they would tour when I was pg or have a newborn...humm...Caden is 9 months now.

I havent been to COF for ages, but after a recent visit, I can officially confirm that Craig has finally grown a pair:

He has a great sense of humor once he lightens up a bit!

well....I've finally watched it and I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with all of you lol. I didn't like the RS/whatever korn's lead singer's name is duet, at all. They just don't mix fine, and they certainly don't sound good together IMHO.

RS was brilliant, as usual, but it wasn't enough to make the song sound good.
