what the hell is it, anyways?!

it kind'a scared me, so i've yet to watch enough of it to understand...

I started watching it because a good friend of mine from brazil is in it (Rodrigo Santoro, he's also in the movie "300") but I don't like it, I think it's boring..

This is one of the most popular shows on TV at the moment. LOST is bar none one of the best, most sophisticated television programs ever created. To call it "boring" suggests profound ignorance and I would recommend sticking with Full House reruns. LOST is an intricate puzzle that becomes more intriguing with each episode. If you haven't watched it do yourself a favor and pick up the first season on DVD. If you're not hooked in the first 5 minutes than don't bother watching it.

Oh goodness, comparing those of us who don't like Lost to people who like Full House? ROFL. Right.

Yeah Pyra, apparently I'm profoundly ignorant because I find it boring. Some people are just way too passionate about a stupid tv show...oh well...

ok first i have to say,
filthy, you need to watch from day one. you can get the episodes on DVD via netflix or blockbluster, hollywood ect. i started this back in august, never saw it before only heard it was good and i ended up camping on the couch every day i had off and had a mini lost marathon. not good for the figure but it was like a really really good book that you couldn't put down. you kinda have to see them all to figure out what is going on, and you can watch this years episodes for free on abc with only 4 commercial breaks. 30 sec each. nice!

why the hate? if you dont like it, its ok....and dude, everyone should hate full house.
except for bob saget, i think hes hot for some strange reason. i think its because he has this nice "dad" white collar image but then on the side he tells dirty jokes. that sounds lame but yea, i dont know.

i hope you friend character gets to talk more and become more part of the story cuz the writers are sucking with paulo right now and his girlfriend. i mean wtf? they just start giving other losties (paulo and gf) stuff to say when someone dies (echo and the other ppl i cant remember) and they need more dialog in that weeks episode. the writers drive me mad. and we dont know anything about them, they just stick them in here and there. i think they could have developed them better starting with the mr. patchy in the hatch episode. no offense to your buddy, its not his fault. its the writers. i need to see 300.

ok well i was just wondering if anyone watched it so we can bitch and bitch about lost, i dont have anyone to talk about it with. i cant wait for this weeks episode. jack playing football with "other" guy (forgot his name). and what the hell is locke going to do with the submarine. when are we going to find out what made him paralyzed?
why the hell did he steal c-4 and stick it in his back pack and not tell anyone. do you think patchy is still alive? he was still kinda breathing after his ears were bleeding. and when is charlie going to die already. unless desmond is wrong. but the writers did sAY they were going to kill off someone this year........again. it could be jack though......that would be a twist.

Anononononnn, I agree that it's time for my friend's character to be a bigger part of the plot, he's not allowed to tell me anything, but he's done shooting it, so I don't think he ever becomes a big part of the show. He told me that the actors get the script the day before they shoot it. I honestly think that the writters change things as they go along, they are not sure where they are going with it...but I'll keep watching it, if I was in a huge tv show like this one I'd like my friends to support me and watch it...and now I'm curious to know why Jack was playing football with one of the others too.

you know, we watched 300 at the drive-in in san jose (AWSOME!!!!! BTH, love the drive in) and i didnt see palo (dont know his real name so i just call him palo) in there. and i looked for him too cuz hes a lostie. i think i was too distracred at all the guys ripped abs.....they are very distracting. exept for xersies. he was kinda gay (as in a bad way not homosexual way wait i take that back he was kinda both). did anyone watch southpark this week or last night i guess it was, where they were making fun of 300. xersies was really a persan woman? too funny. who was palo in 300?

We were trying to figure out the 6 too. One is the dead guy (or gal) so that leaves two if its claire wouldn't her baby be the sixth one? B/c of that I don't think she made it off the island. It seems like Kate is with someone who knows the history btwn her and Jack, which makes me think its sawyer. Maybe the dead guy is Lock or Ben?? HUMMMMMMMMMMMM

Hurley sees Jack prior to the downward spiral. They point this out with Jack saying "I was thinking of growing a beard." to Hurley.

What I wonder is Hurley is ok, or possibly somehow in the casket? See, in "pre-beard Jack" future, Hurley is telling Jack that they need to go back to the island and Jack refuses. In "Geico Caveman Jack" future, Jack is gung ho about going back to the island and we see him working hard at getting ahold of someone he wants to go back to the island with, however, we find out that this is Kate and not Hurley. Why isn't he seeking out Kate instead of Hurley? Is he not available anymore?

I don't really consider it a spoiler if it's readily available everywhere (the net, TV Guide and other various magazines).

The Oceanic 6 are:

That's it. However, think of it this way: The Oceanic 6 are the six of the Flight 815 ticket holders whom make it back to the island in the "current" flash forwards. There is a riddle eluding to another character who gets off the island.

"Someone who was on the plane, but, didn't have a ticket."

My guess as to why they didn't show Mr Numbers in the future hospital with Hurley is possibly because he may be dead, but, we don't know yet.

We know Hurly saw Christian Shepherd, Jack's father, in Jacob's cabin, however, we don't yet have confirmation that Christian is Jacob. Hurley doens't know this, but, this may be because he's never actually seen Jack's dad to know what he looks like. If you remember from the Lock-centric episode in which Lock hears Jacob, you see a glimpse of him in the same chair you see Christian Shepherd in. In that scene, it's clear that whoever is in the seat has long dark hair and a beard. You can't see the detail, but, it's evident in his silhouette. Also remember that Hurley was spooked by an eye on a sweaty face that jumped in front of the window where he was looking at Christian Shepherd. The eye may have belonged to Jacob.

I don't get it either, yet.

The dead guy is not necessarily someone who ever actually set foot on the island. The Oceanic 6 have already been confirmed. Season 1 focused on the front half of the plane, Season 2 focused on a story revolving around the tail section, and season 3 focused on a story more centric to "The Others". Season 4 is supposed to focus on the freighters as well as Charles Widmore's company (Penny's dad) and The Hanso Foundation (originators of the Dharma Initiative). There is a lot involved in the rest of the world regarding the island for those who know about it. The Oceanic 6 refers only to ticket holders of Flight 815, so, it could still be someone from the island. Ben, Alexis, Carl, Juliet, Russoue are all possiblities.

Claire does not make it off the island as one of the Oceanic 6, we know that much right now, however, in the end of S4:E4: Eggtown, we see Kate talking to her son. Right before the ending credits roll you hear her call him by the name "Aaron".

Think about the clue "Someone who was on the plane, but, didn't have a ticket."
This could very well be Aaron as he was on the plane in Claire at the time and the airlines haven't started ticketing in womb babies (yet!).

WTF? Did Kate get pregnant and have a son whom she gave the same name Claire gave her baby? Or is Kate off the island with Claire's baby for some reason? I don't think kidnapping is likely, however, something might happen to/with Claire preventing her from leaving and she loves her son so much that she told her to take Aaron. Remember that there's a lot of danger regarding pregnancy. Everyone was pleased and surprised when Claire was able to have a baby on the island and not die, but, this might have been no more than a delay.

She could also get eaten by a bear. Or decide to get wild and drop her responsibilities to follow The Cure around. The possibilities are endless.

I want to know the explanation behind the 4 toed statue that was broken above the ankle with the rest of the statue missing.
"I don't know what concerns me more. The fact that the rest of the statue is missing or that it only has 4 toes."

That first episode was great. I think that the black guy who visited and creeped out Hurley in the recreation center of the mental institution works for The Hanso Foundation and not Oceanic. As he just happened to forget any actual identification, and knew about other people on the island, I'm pretty sure he's not the legal Oceanic rep that he said he was.

He sternly asked Hurley "Are THEY still alive?"

Lost always surprises me when I find out, after the fact, that something in plain sight was an actual clue.

The legal rep had a tie that caught my eye. If you watch the episode again look at the shape that's repeated over and over on the tie.

It's the shape of the Dharma Initiative logo (http://lostpedia.com/wiki/DHARMA_Logos). It's empty, however, the shape none the less. The "Others" already on the island purged with some of the actual Dharma Initiative and killed off most of them. I think this guy works for The Hanso Foundation and is trying to find out if "The Others" who killed off most of his companies Dharma Initiative are still alive on the island. Just a guess though.

Anyway, back to work.

No. I don't think that Jacob and Christian Shepherd are the same person based on the images. With one having a short beard, long hair, and raggedy clothing vs Christian Shephard looking obviously much cleaner cut in his suit.

It was interesting seeing him in Jacob's house. It definitely raised questions. The person who's eye we saw when he jumped in front of the window spooking Hurley is more likely to be the Jacob we originally saw in the chair. I'm very curious as to what Christian Shepherd's function actually is while here on the island after his death.

I don't know if you're going to consider the following link a spoiler. It's one of the official Lost mobisodes. 13 mobisodes were created for viewing on Verizon cell phones to fill in the time gap between the long gap between Season's 3 and 4. These are official Lost short episodes whose clips are never going to be included in the actual show, so, if you don't see them, then, you haven't actually seen everything even if you're up to date with seasons 1 through 3. Not going to spoil the clip, but, just going to say that it begins showing 2 minutes and 10 seconds of what happened before the opening of the show season 1 episode 1. I mean 2 minutes before the show started with the close up of Jack's eye when he wakes up in the jungle. It's what happened during 2 minutes deeper into the jungle after he crashed and while he was unconscious. Not "Others" related.

Thanks for the pic. You can definitely see the shape of the Dharma logo on his tie. Could be just a costuming coincidence, however, things like this hold meaning much of the time in Lost.

I don't know much about chess, however, I wonder if there is any underlying meaning to the position of the pieces on AND OFF the board.

Also, the chalkboard, I think that's supposed to be a reference to all of the paintings that were done on some of the interior walls of the first hatch. What was it... The Swan? I don't remember. The shark is there because of the animal work station. I think it was the hydra. Do you remember when The Others took Walt off the raft and blew it up? While Sawyer was splashing in the water the camera cut to an underwater shot from below showing a shark pass in front of the camera and on the tail end the shark actually had a Dharma logo on it. I think that explains the shark in the chalkboard drawing.

Good stuff. It was funny. I was looking at the lyrics to Lost on the most recent album and applying them to the show. I know, I know...
