I used to come here quite a lot a few years back and decided to return with time to spare to maybe meet some fans in my area who will be attending the upcoming Vancouver show.
Been a fan since the Standing on a Beach album I was given in 1987!
I was one of those "No one loves them more than me" kids smiles
Grew up in a poor family (ya boohoo me!) so there was no concerts for me until in 2000 I lived in Dallas TX for a few years and got to attend (front row center...well, I had row 13 but sneaked the front row anyway!) the Dallas Bloodflowers concert.
I can't even begin to say the high I felt.
Uhm ok, I'm babbling - sorry. I'll again be front row in Vancouver so yeah, I hope I can meet some people and we can see if we can track down the after-concert-club-trip (I hear it's common to get a chance to meet some of them that way?)
I haven't posted on here in years, under my(& Cat's) old name cure4cat. If midnight reads this, I'm freinds with your friend "Cat", we go back a looong way.
Anyway, cool to be back! Can't wait till October!
Hi, I'm new here too...I'm in Atlanta, 35, Cure fan since 1989. The first Cure album I heard was Japanese Whispers, lent to me by a friend at college, closely followed by Disintegration, which was the first album I bought. I've only gotten to see them live once, in 1992 on the Wish tour in Orlando, Florida. Slept on the sidewalk for tix; they're the only band I'd ever do that for!! My internet access is severely limited right now; I get online at the public library, only 1 hour at a time once or twice a week, so if I don't reply to a post for a while, I don't want anyone to think I'm being rude, so just thought I'd mention that.
Midnight,
Cat and I were boyfriend & Girlfriend for about the last 8 years (on again off again but mostly on).Been apart now for about 2 years, but got back in touch, too much to go into now. ANYWAY, I'm the one that got her really into The Cure & Depeche Mode when we first met (although she'll never admit it). I talked to her recently about going the the Shoreline Festival, since we have been to quite a few Cure & DM concerts together, and she brought up your name, Midnight, as a friend of hers. So I went back on Club America to get updated on goings on and noticed your posts. Since she doesn't have a computer, I figured this would be a cool and easy way to keep in touch, talk about updates on the tour, get togethers, etc. So Yeah, this is me, Chris, I'll be here!
chris: i noticed the purple "d" and the "doombuggy" references...
are you a big fan of the land???
do you visit often???
when you talk to cat, please tell her that i found round trip airfair to the festival for under $125!!!
i already booked my flight, but will pass on the flight info, if she wants to come along!
kathleen: welcome!
pull up a chair...grab a drink...stay awhile...
glad to have you!
Midnight: Yep, I've been an AP at the Park for about 5 years now. I usually go every couple weeks with friends, d00mbuggy (named for my favorite attraction- The Haunted Mansion) is my user name almost everywhere.
I'll let Cat know about the Airline ticket price if she doesn't hear from you first. Hopefully we'll all be able to hang out up there. I have a friend who is an executive for Ticketmaster, so hopefully he'll be able to hook me up with some awesome tix(like the kind they keep for themselves!) Hopefully Hollywood Bowl too!
Hello again, sorry for the hiatus (yet again!)
Thank you for the welcome and welcome to everyone else too
I do already have front row tickets actually, I haven't been able to find someone to share them with yet but I'm hoping (I need some $ back lol, cost $150 each *ouchies*)
Now if I can get to know others going and hook up before/after, how cool would that be?
Is it ok for a 30yo mother/wife to run away to Vancouver and dress "goth" for a Cure concert? Hmmm...maybe I'll stick with jeans and a t-shirt
oh and by the way (not really) the button down there makes me giggle:
"Insert Object"
