How many concerts have you been to? When and where please:) Three, Coachella, Cincy & Cleveland Curiosa. Now I want to see just The Cure on their own.


Your favorite song to hear LIVE? I don't know if I have a favorite. They were all great to hear live. The most memorable was "Faith" in Cleveland, as that's the last song I ever heard live, in person.



How much would you pay for one ticket? There are variables that need to be addressed before putting a price on a ticket. Is it up close - and in a spot where someone 7 feet tall won't ruin it for me? Then I'd pay a couple hundred bucks. Is it a bit farther back, but still somewhere I can see everything without the band looking like ants? Probably $100, at most. If it's in the back or the middle of the pit where someone taller than me is certain to get in front of me, $50 at most.




How much would you pay to get backstage even though you may get thrown out 5 mins later and watch the band drive by in a white van 5 mins after that? Nothing. I've never heard good stories of people who got backstage of any band. The bands always seem to hide from fans.



Most annoying thing about The Cure? Robert's optimistic "the new album should be out by/new tour should be starting *insert new date to replace old date given*" way of teasing fans.




What ex member do you miss the most? shrugs If they can't work together anymore, I'm not particularly bothered.




Do you think the new album is going to come out before the new tour? Ummmmm... There are probably only a handful of people who can speculate about that, and I'm not one.

How many shows do you think you are going to go to this tour? At least two. I have a ticket for Chicago, thanks to friends who live up there, and if the Cleveland date comes true, I'll go to that one, too. I always end up liking the concerts I see in Cleveland, the best. Though I don't really like Cleveland, per se...




Last Cure song listened to? My itunes is on random... and it plays a lot of Cure throughout the day, but I think it was "Ocean."




Least favorite Cure song? "Object" or "Accuracy" - both grate on my nerves.



Best memory of being a Cure fan-try to only pick ONE! Wow, I made a few friends through Other Voices, and a couple very good friends in particular, all centered around our love for the Cure, in the early days. In fact, we all still bump into each other online now, and it is fun. So, definitely making friends was always the best part of being a Cure fan.

well i would have to argue that.
when we met the cure backstage (carson curiosa) we had an unbelieveable time.
robert was very nice, and talked with us for a few min each.
he signed autographs and was taking pictures with fans for a long while.
granted we had to wait for him to come out for a couple of hours, but it was sooooooo worth it!!!
that was really the only time ive met them backstage. so it is the only expieriance i have "backstage", but it is a really positive one and one i will treasure always!!!

That's very cool that you have a story to counter all the negative ones I have heard with many bands that either hide from fans or act like they want to piss on everyone. (Note, this is not about The Cure.) I am still not sure I want to pay for something that is just such a long shot.

the fake fans that are loving friday im in love and the hits, wearing red velvet lace up boots and a green shirt with a red jacket looking like a freaky goth elf from the north poll but more than that............. robert stating "this will be the best cure album ever" and we all know thats not true cuz its already happened.

Your favorite song to hear LIVE?

FTEOTDGS -- when they played it live during the Wish tour it was a spiritual experience for me and everyone around me. It was a combination of the lights, the music and the build up throughout the song. I think it's one of the most lyrically and musically synchronous Cure songs. That night, too, they closed the show with a 15 minute version of A Forest, which was insane. Crowd was whipped up into a frenzy and did not want to leave.

How much would you pay for one ticket?

Face value. Being up at the front of the stage is not important to me. I'd rather be dead center, halfway back or further to get the best mix of the music. That's experience for me. The Cure is not a theatrical event, it's a musically inspired invasion of the mind!

It's all about the music, and I've been a fan since Head on the Door was released.


Most annoying thing about The Cure?
They are the least annoying band I know. Put the shy, quiet guy on the stage and let the music, lyrics and vocals charm away!



What ex member do you miss the most?
Can't say I miss anyone, really. What was interesting at Ultra was the missing keyboards. A lot of people complained after that show saying it isn't the Cure without the keyboards, but Robert's guitar play in place of the keyboards in certain songs was amazing. It creates a new sound that's just as dazzling as the original arrangements.



Do you think the new album is going to come out before the new tour?
Yes ... maybe ... ???

I know it's a cop out to say, it's hard to say. But I think my favorite albums have changed over the past 25 years based on where I was in my life at the time. When Disintigration was released, it was captivating and had an immediate impact on me. I couldn't stop listening to it. In the right frame of mind, though, Faith can be a powerful journey. And I was one of the few people I know who loved 13th as the first release on WMS. It was such a departure and a magical one at that. And Mint Car is 1A behind Just Like A Dream as their best "pop" song.

PUTTING BETTER SONGS AS B-SIDES AND NEVER ON THE FINISHED ALBUM - PARTICULARLY THE WISH B-SIDES ARE AMAZING, 'PLAY' AND 'THIS TWILIGHT GARDEN' ARE AWESOME AND SO MUCH BETTER THAN WENDY TIME OR CUT I THINK, I KNOW THE ALBUM WOULD HAVE TAKEN A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT DIRECTION BUT STILL THEY WERE TWO CURE SONGS WHICH SHOULD REALLY HAVE MADE IT ONTO THE FINAL ALBUM.

I would love to be able to say a lot... But it would depend on how close I was sitting and how much I could afford. Probably not more than a couple hundred bucks, realistically.

I've never been backstage... I couldn't bring myself to bid more than $500 for the last Amnesty International auction. After Curiosa was over, I saw Jason about 5 feet away... I freaked and couldn't say anything to him.



Most annoying thing about The Cure?

Right now, pushing back the release date of the new album. Either don't say a word until it really is almost done, or do a blog and share the process with us step by step... It's annoying when you make promises that you don't keep. Our little lives don't have that many bright points, and your new album gives us something to hope for.

I agree with you guys about certain fans, though. I hate it when someone calls themselves a Cure fan and the only song they know is Friday I'm In Love. :P




What ex member do you miss the most?

I miss Perry because he seems like such a sweet guy... I miss Roger because he's so awesome on the keyboards. I dread to think about what they sound like with backing tapes...

I wish I could say yes... But I really doubt it.

Disintegration. Partially because it was my first Cure album, but also because I just love the sound... And I simply cannot imagine my life without it.
