Guess it's where you get your news from and the LA Times used to be better than it is now. It would be nice if the press would get beyond age, skintone, and gender in this election. It matters but those three things combined don't define who someone really is.

Not sure if I like her or not. But I like her point about drilling for oil in Alaska. She said that's one of the reasons Alaska was allowed to join to the good ol US of A. I'd rather ruin our soil for our economy than ruin someone else's soil and then start a war for oil. We probably would hurt the environment LESS if we didn't leave the environmental trail importing all our oil from halfway around the world. Maybe it would make us more competetive and create a business for no oil whatsover in the long run. And I don't like anyone's opinion on abortion. Obama says it's all right for a teenager to get an abortion out of state without any parental consent. I could see birth control without any consent but an abortion is surgery. You should have to get your parent's consent. Hell you need your parents consent to get a TATTOO before you're 18!

why ruin the environment in order to get oil?
we dont need oil, we need NEW energy.
i dont think getting oil from alaska will solve anything.
the oil we would get from alaska and off shore drilling wont cost anyless as it all goes on the world market or will sell @ the world market price. thats a fact that the bigwigs in office dont want anyone to know. wont help the price.

and just because the US bought alaska from russia for oil (and other things) dosnt mean that we need it to mess up the environment in order to get oil. we should protect it.
i just think we should save what we have and try to get better renewable energy for our transportation needs.

we need new energy and a new way to transport things not more oil. we should spend the money on that

oh and they are fucking up the environment in canada for oil and that on sacred indian/native peoples land. nice. real fucking nice. the first nations are real happy about that one. and then there are the diamond mines up there. dont even get me started on that.......

as far as abortion......i dont want any MAN or woman telling me what i can and can not do with my own body or what ever it is going on inside of it. esp with rape.
and the kids that want an abortion ......i dont think their parents would care about them anyway esp if they were not around enuf in their kids life to keep them from getting pregers in the first place. its the parents fault! they need to be more active in their kids life!

So I am working on the URVOTESCOUNT.COM tour for a couple of weeks. We try to get kids from 13-17 to get ready to vote in the next election. WAY TOO MANY kids don't have a clue about elections. Some kids thought Hilary was still running. That the Vice President takes over in 4 years. Some kids didn't even know their own damn zip code!!!! More than half the kids said they want to vote for Obama. I asked some of them Why? "Because he's hot." "Because he's cool." They had NO IDEA what ANY candidate was for or against. Thank goodness we are targeting that age group. In four years they MIGHT make or break an election with an educated vote. Many parents sure as hell aren't talking to them about researching the candidates. But a free t shirt and a free mp3 download card will make them read up on them for about 5 minutes. I'm sure some parents are going to read the literature we gave their kids which was about the war, environment, healthcare... It's completly non partisan. It was more informative than the newspapers:)
I still have no idea who I'm voting for by the way.
