This is just one of about 6 M-H vehicles at the Melbourne Tank Museum, which includes a range of 4X4 gun tractors and several 6X6 versions. Owner John Belfield also has a couple or original wrecker bodies as fitted to the 6X6.

Two-Man Tank(s) as well?

October 17 2002, 2:42 PM

Keith,

Great pictures, thanks for sharing them with us, again.
Robert Stafford wrote me he visited the Melbourne Tank Museum and said John has "the remains of one or two WWII M-H tanks". He didn't actually see it because he was so busy looking at everything else. Did you happen to stumble across them?

Regards,
Hanno

MH 2-Man Tanks

December 9 2002, 4:08 AM

Hanno,

I know the Belfield collection (and John) pretty well ( I wrote the exhibit captions for much of the museum)but I can't say I've seen or heard of John having any 2-man MH tank remains, but I'll be very happy to be proved wrong thee, as they are a very rare item.

Mike
