Got a sample of the Revitalizing s/c with the Sunday Newspaper (the Post Register, which we term "the Post Communist Register") and tried it yesterday. I LOVE it. My hair is NOT AT ALL tangly, and I kinda expected it to be, because when the conditioner was on, it didn't feel very slick. I thought, "Oh, it's not slick; I'll probably tangle fit to kill". But, no tangles and it's really soft and silky. Even after sleeping on it braided, it's still soft and tangle-free. Really really nice stuff. I did shampoo all the way to the ends, and then conditioned the whole mass. I can only imagine that CWCing with it would only be softer yet, but evidently that's not even necessary with this stuff. Lathering agents are BOTH SLS's, in the number two and three spots, as you would expect. The conditioner does have cones ( at least I THINK these are cones): methylchloroisothiazolanone and methylisothiazolanone (sp? shoot me) but those are far down the list, I think third from the end or something. I am very happy with it. THe last two or three times I have used my beloved Finesse, I have been less than pleased, sadly. SO, maybe I have found a good alternative to use when I do my little s/c break from CO washing (about every three or four months, I take a month break from the CO washing).
The only thing I DIDN'T like about it was the smell. To me, it reminded me of "suave strawberry essence" shampoo, and I could just gag. When I was in junior-and high-school, that was all we bought (money was tight; it was cheap and we thought it smelled good). I used Suave Strawberry Essence until I could just gag and puke. So, smelling that yesterday kinda brought all that back, and it was a turn off. But my hair feels so good that I could even stand the smell, to have hair this nice!
Thanks, and happy 'washing', however you do it!
