I went to the beauty supply store the other day and saw this new line of Nexxus products. The owner said they were very good products. I am a fan of Nexxus' Humectress so I thought I'd give it a go.

When I was ready to use the conditioner, I knew it was probably not going to be the greatest thing for my hair because there was a "Certified Aromatherapy" product sticker on the cap. (The bottle sits with the cap upside down.) I was leery because normally a product is going to concentrate on scent or actual conditioning, not both. Anyways, I was in a hurry when I was at the store and the only thing I really read was "...leaving the hair in exceptional health."

Oh well... This product does some detangling and has a strong scent to it. Scent is really a personal thing. You may like it. You may not. It says that the aromatherapy essential oils used are Grapefruit, Orange and Guaiacwood. Don't ask me. I have no idea what Guaiacwood is. Personally, it smells okay but is a bit overpowering.

As for actual conditioning, this product does none. It left my hair feeling dry and it felt like I may have used a detangler but not an actual conditioner. I need to use a heavy-duty conditioner as my ends are really dry.

All in all, I found that this product is not for me. Perhaps somebody out there will have better luck.

Here are the list of ingredients if you're interested:

I am following the "Curly Girl" routine, and this is one of the conditioners they use at Devachan salon. I don't rinse it completely out, my dry curly hair drinks it up.

I'll buy it from you if you like, I am almost out of the half-gallon I bought several months ago.

I wish I had the results you did. I'm glad somebody's having luck with this stuff.

I'd sell it to you but I bought the small bottle and with two teenagers in the house, it's nearly gone. Sorry...

Is this part of their Phyto Organics Line?

I bought the Enphuse Intensive Reconstructor and am happy with it. It's a bit like K-Pak from joico so if K-Pak works for you, so will this.

They definitely have cones in them. I like these for the colder months.

I find reconstructors work best for me if I alternate them with other lighter conditioners.

I was wondering... You use reconstructors in conjunction with other conditioners. I talked to a woman who works at the beauty supply store and she said that reconstructors were basically for.. well, reconstructing hair that's been restructured due to chemical processing, i.e. coloring, perming, bleaching, etc. She suggested that my daughter use a reconstructor once per week since she bleaches and colors (turquoise for two months, pink for the next two months... W-I-L-D, man! ) her hair.

My question to you is, do you have any chemicals in your hair? Coloring or perming? Or do you simply use a reconstructor as a conditioner, and if so, what kind of results are you having? I've tried Nexxus' Keraphix, which is a reconstructor, and it didn't do much for me. I don't color nor do I perm my hair. I was wondering whether the benefits of a reconstructor might be lost on me since I have virgin hair.

No, I do not color treat or use chems on my hair. I do, however, have very hard water, which tends to overdry my hair.

I use my reconstructor in the winter only. I find it too heavy during the summer months. The Joico one I use is pretty light so I use it as regular conditioner since my hair is very thick. It works nicely.
