Sitcom actors...they never learn. They think popular=talented well, here's ashton's (what kind of name is that?) wake-up call. I wish david schwimmer got one too.

The only thing Ashton Kutcher can do well is look pretty. All in all ok for TV, but not as the lead in a movie.

hmmn...

January 27 2004, 8:35 PM

you act as if you know this man, the way you speak so ill of him. it's depressing the way people put down others. i read a few articles about him and he seems like a decent man, and very intelligent. contrary to popular belief. personally, i prefer to know what i am talking about before i say it.

Um, we don't hafta know him to know that he's a bad actor. It's called talent. It's prolly not something you're into though.

you prolly don't know anything i'm into...that's not the point though. we all have opinions and are entitled to think and feel as we choose. as it's your opinion to judge a book by the cover...it's my opnion to not act that way.

Mmmm hmmmm....

So reading a few articles is enough to be able to make expert statements?

Funny, I've read at least a few articles about the dolt...as well as watched several of his tv appearances. That makes me more of an expert than you. And he can't act, no matter how decent he may seem in a few articles.

I have to disagree foxy. Kutcher did a passable to good performance in Butterfly Effect. Also, I've heard that he has a degree in Biochemistry. Not an achievement any dolt can recieve. Can someone shine some light on this rumor, or truth if it is so.

Exactly

January 28 2004, 3:32 AM

You know, I was very prejudiced against pretty boy Brad Pitt, and then saw such efforts as 12 Monkeys, Fight Club and Se7en, and changed my ways. The boy can flat out act, which for me, means making me believe I'm looking at the character, and not Brad Pitt (I loved his role in Snatch). Kelso is a tool. As is Keanu Reeves. Neither can act. They are the same person in every thing they do. So fuck off, Glynn. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. We are speaking of his acting skills, not how great of a guy he is. If you want lovey dovey and pc, post on the tv bored. We are pretty much to the point on the movie bored. Point in case: Kelso sucks as an actor.

I disagree.

I wouldn't believe his celebrity bio without skepticism, but I think Kelso is the best I've seen at physical comedy since Kramer. Lots of actors try their hands at the art of the pratfall, but very few can master it.

I haven't seen him in a serious role, but he's done nothing in comedy that would lead me to avoid it.

Plus, mad points for banging Demi.

The only comedy I've seen him do well is the dumb guy schtick...and I don't think that he's acting.

Still, points for Demi. Not as many points as he would've gotten 10 years ago, but 10 years ago he was probably 12 or something.

Yeah, I'll even give him props for that. He's got eye-appeal, and the simple public seems to think he's hot as camel shit. But for how long? He's just another flash in the pan. Maybe a bright flash, but not a bright flash.

Uhg, I think I'm tapped....

Seriously, that Mr. Kutcher is only popular for two reasons, his "dumb guy" act and his Oedipus complex.
I haven't seen BE, so I can't judge it. The story itself sounds sounds cool but I have doubts about Mr. Kutcher's acting. Maybe he should stay away from sci-fi...unless it's comedic sci-fi (you know he could play a dumbass ship captain or something).

Either way, a quarter million dollars for every episode of "That 70's Show" will probably keep him around for a long time. Just maybe it will keep him busy enough to prevent him from stumbling onto any movie sets. But then again, Mama Bear may make sure he gets more roles. (For those of you who don't dig on subtlety, yes, I am implying that I don't think Mr. Kutcher could snag many roles by his own acting merits. Just my opinion.)

Best since Kramer. Since Kramer.

Nowhere in that did I compare the two. Kelso is not in the same league as Michael Richards for physical comedy, but he does a better job than anyone else I've seen SINCE.

Butterfly effect...seen it, loved it

January 30 2004, 8:35 AM

Ok,let me begin by saying I was kidnapped on a dat, nothin' I would have done on my own. With that out the way -

Ashton shocked me. He wasn't like oscar worthy, but solid. The plots were realistic and the ending was the best. I'd add spoilers since it doesn't seem like there a chance in hell the heavy hitters are gonna see it, but I highly recommend it. It is very violent and disturbing. Really sad but you feel for all of the chars. Something most directors lately seem to have a real problem with.

the no named actors were really good too.
Give Ashton a change.
