Dude! How the hell can you say PotC was an "okay" movie?! It was f*ckin awesome! Johnny Depp is the hottest man in the world and the eye-liner is damn sexy! His acting was awesome and his accent rules! The costumes were wicked athentic looking!! Did you even SEE the swordsmanship?! f*ckin sweet!! how do you suggest they could have made this movie better?! cause i don't see how any of your "three bad things of the movie" are bad at all! It did NOT look like a bad movie and the sets were awesome! Did you even pay attention to the story?! Because maybe if you did, you would have felt the intensity of it!! The action sequences were great and gave the movie a fast-paced feel, again, the swords!! You didn't even mention Orlando Bloom! Did you not hear his sexy accent?! Are you blind or deaf? Cause fron the likes of your review it seems to be so!!!

It wasn't terrible, and Johnny Depp was truly stunning to watch as Jack Sparrow. He really just captured my attention every time he was on screen, and it had very little to do with his use of eyeliner.
Every time he came on the screen I had to stop everything I was doing to see his sexy face. I had never heard of him before, unfortunetly, and when I saw him in this movie, I almost died. He is the sexiest pirate, person, whatever you want to call him, to ever walk the planet. Just the name Johnny Depp makes me crazy!
Oh my god! Pirates of the Caribbean is the second best movie of all time to me! Well,The Lord of the Rings is the best. But Johnny Depp was so great in it and he looked so HOT!!! Sizzling! I am Johnny Depp's #1 fan and I have seen 15 of his movies-I have to say that his best-ever performance was in POTC!If it weren't for Johnny the movie would most likely be a peice of crap! Orlando would make it a passing movie but if it wasn't for Johnny they would'nt have got nominations for many award shows! I do think the swashbuckling was rather great and the costumes and accents were marvilous! Mindless mindless, Johnny Depp is sooooo hot blah blah blech, jesus yeah he was great in the movie, he is just about the only reason this movie is any good, that and the wardrobe. There was some chuckling parts but on the whole I wouldn't say that this was the best movie ever and this WAS NOT Depps best role. I have one... no two.... no three problems with the story and movie in general.
1) the writing wasn't the best, that one line about wearing a corset almost made me eat the damn television it was sooo bad I honestly wanted to smack whoever wrote that damn line. There are a couple others that made me cringe but that was by far the worst.
2) Keira Knightley (lets hear it for IMDB) acts about as good as an elm tree... but she is hot hooooooooooooot hooooooot hot.... hot but when she talks it ruins everything they should have had her just prancing around in skimpy outfits and not talking... hot. and again that damn line about corset freakin terrible, o yeah and that fight scene wear she is bashing blood thirsty pirates into pulp at the side of Orlando gah I hate that since when does being a pampered princess or rich guys daughter qualify you to kick ass? Jack Sparrow is a bad ass pirate and Orlando bloom for some reason is a crazy swordsman so they can fight but wearing a corset? that doesn't make you able to beat undead blood thirsty pirates.....(terrible line again).
3) There was one whole in the story, if those pirates faught and faught and faught for years while dead they would have taken horrible wounds that were fatal obviously, and they wouldn't die because the curse blah blah blah. But when the captain that was jack's counter part Barbossa he has the curse and doesn't die, he dies after the fact when the curse is lifted, meaning he died from a fatal wound inflicted while having the curse after the curse was gone. you know I don't feel like explaining everything so I will just say once the curse was lifted all of them should have fallen dead on the spot, or at least more then none. Figure it out yourself.
So after these three problems the last not as concrete as the first two I'd have to say the movie was good but not great and by no means worship worthy. Save you worshipping for real movies and if you want to see good Johnny check out Edward Scissor hands, Blow and FEAR AND LOATHING... damn it. O yeah and i think he admitted that he used Hunter S Thompson's character to make Jack Sparrow and you can definately see it.
Oh that line "You should try wearing a corset" was AWFUL, ranks up there with Lara Croft punching that shark rolling eyes just awful.
I enjoyed the movie. Johnny Depp did an amazing job in his role of Captain Jack Sparrow! He was brilliant. And it has nothing to do with schoolgirl crushes, the man's acting just breathed life into the whole movie. Even if you are not a Johnny Depp fan, I believe you will appreciate his work on that movie.
As for Keira Knightly, sigh wooden performance. And in the movie King Arthur..... she's terrible. I have no idea how her and Sean Young managed to get acting careers, neither can act.

I completely and one hundred percent agree with you. This was a wickedly awsome movie. it was absolutely amazing. i agree that this movie made me too think about becoming a pirate...but i didnt for i knew Jesus would not like that. That was such a great movie and Orlando Bloom is the SEXIEST BABE ALIVE!!!!! i wish that i could just meet him...that would be THE GREATEST day ever. i would also like to say that this movie is a five (espesially because of the accent that orlando puts off). what more to say then i love orlando bloom!!!
I dunno Marn. I think this board has had an influx of "trolls" as of late. I mean, teens are stupid and all, but I doubt anyone would realistically say "I wanted to be a pirate because I watched that movie, but I didn't because I knew Jesus wouldn't like it." Either way, they're cluttering up the board and damaging our already weak reputation.
I would recommend to watch the first 20 minutes of PotC...worth it to see Depp's entrance.
I think Mr. Depp is worth watching in anything...Loved him in 'Blow' although the subject matter didn't really interest me and his performance in 'Ninth Gate' [yet another movie attempt to scare the audience with promises of conjuring Satan when nothing quite happens. Ever] kept me watching until the end. Twice--just to see if I had missed something.
Yes, he's good looking, but one has to admire him for taking risks in the parts he chooses...

Now I am sure the die hard 'PotC' fans would know this - but, if the rumors are indeed true about somehow getting Keith Richards to play a small role as Jack Sparrow's father - that (as the kids say) would be the shiznit.
I doubt it though, 'cause aren't they filming the sequels as we speak, and aren't the Stones on tour?
The Stones don't start their tour until late August. They started shooting POTC in February. From what I have read, Keith is in. He signed on four 4 days of shooting, according to most sources. I suppose we will have to wait and see ...

Johnny Depp is a REALLY talented actor, hes brilliant and when I watched the movie I was shocked how good he acted n hes dammmmm hot there n the plot of the movie was really cool so i totally agree with u n actually i don understand why everyone likes orlando cuz johnny is 10000000000000000 times better!!!!!!!!!!
