I was just wondering why the so called "Regulars" seem to feel they belong to an elite echelon of posters that are somehow more competent then the rest of the people that like to post their opinions. Of course this is probably signing my proverbial death warrant insuring a painful death at the hands of the great Dr. Z, Hep C and all the other people I can't remember. Or, they could take this as below them, deciding they could not possibly deign to rebuke such an impudent whelp of OT's chat boards. Either way I just think it's kinda ridiculous to act as if you have earned something by just sitting in front of your computer screen and bashing other people for not posting on this site for years. This doesn't apply to all so called "regulars", just the ones that think they can deride others... come to think of it, I don't even know if the people I named are notorious for that their names just came to mind.

Now, I wouldn't even say that I've been here long enough to qualify (6 months or so...), but let me make this short and sweet:
Grow a thicker skin. And if you're intelligent, stick around. We need you.
The problem is, people can't fit into those two categories. Yes, there is a hazing-like atmosphere. So deal with it. Get called a newbie, make sounds good points, and the shit-talking will go away.
The other problem is people like yourself (but not you, of course). You'll say something like you said, fully well-intentioned, but then be gone in a week anyway, so why would people take you seriously?
I have been reading OT for about a year and a half haven't been posting to much but yeah I can handle the hazing atmosphere, I played college sports where hazing was very prevelant (I look pretty ridiculous with a shaved head) so I think I'll be able to take what you guys can dish out... hopefully. I admit I do get a little angry at things but I'm so used to it by now it doesn't really bother me that much. You seem to be pretty reasonable and if there are more "Regulars" like yourself I think it shouldn't be so bad.
I am no regular and I am no newbie...I am a whatevery. I post whatever, respond to whatever, and read whatever. I don't read every post....cause let's be honest...some of them need cliff notes. I am a lazy reader. So I haven't come across any attacks on "newbs" that made me gasp for air. Instead I just go "whatever" much on some chips and play my games.

Ok well my question has been answered and I think this thread is ripe for being attacked by someone. So lets turn it into something useful. Ok hmm how about... Should we send a person to Mars or shouldn't we.. I'm all for it in fact I would go be a colonist if it was free and I think it would be alas I will be long gone before they colonize it unless they freeze my head and forge me a robotic bio mechanical body that is capable of deep space travel and can transform into something cool... preferably a tank.
We are so very close to spreading the human population to Mars like an ungodly plague that it brings a lump to my throat. Women with three boobs, rocks as far as the eye can see, hidden chambers where our Alien friends are hanging out and stealing cable. It is all major coolio.
...that iritate everyone who posts here. Bumping dead topics is a #1 no-no. OddTodd has said that it's annoying, and he's right. It's his website. Another point is that the Movieboard has always been harsh. I have been in heated altercations w/Bossy, $8, Hep-C and several others of the regulars to this board. Newbies do not get special treatment here. If you post something stupid, somebody is sure to jump your shit. You line them up, we knock them down, so to speak. This includes regulars of the board. If you stick to movie topics, then generally you won't get fucked with.
If you want community, go to TVland. Several of us post on both. That board is a lot gentler, and tends to be off-topic most of the time. The Movieboard usually attempts to talk about movies.

Like I told Jr. in another thread, almost everyone I've bashed for being a moron was, in fact, a moron. I've been having a little fun with someone who should've known better, so it looks hostile here right now, but I think you'll find this board surprisingly friendly if you stick around.
I am THOROUGHLY disgusted! There have been 8 (now 9) responses to this posting about regulars and NOT ONE joke about being Irregular. This is NOT right. I'm shocked and dismayed.
Oh, and shut the hell up about regulars having an attitude - this is my main social outlet in life and I have to do it somewhere.

Funny how you seem to be under the impression that you taught some grand lesson in our little exchange when EVERY OTHER PERSON on the board has repeatedly informed you of how bad you looked. First came to the site in 2002. I was part of a small group selected for an experimental course as a senior in high school to train kids to get certified in networking. Of course all we did was play Counterstrike all day and screw around on the internet. Someone found one of Todd's flash cartoons and we all thought how he said "boobs" and "Pringels" were hilarious.
ha oddly enough a buddy of mine named Todd googled his name and came upon this site around the same time, found the cartoons and basically clock work oranged me until I had seen them all. I've been a fan ever since the brain washing.
