| Yeah well Mr. Altman is kinda cynical isn't he? Well I just heard about this guy while looking at some Criterion DVDs (sp), he has a couple. So since he was good enough to make it onto the holy Criterion (even though they admitted Chasing Amy) I figured I'd give him a shot and buy short cuts just for the fun of it. I liked it, I'd give it an 8 out of 10, he has a real talent for making everybody look like bastards and I think Sealab "borrowed" one of the character's names (Stormy Weathers = Stormy Waters) so all in all I was pretty happy with my choice, however I was just wondering what you folks thought of it. Also he has another criterion which I almost bought called (something) '88 it's about a political candidate these two guys made up to run as a joke but he ended up being taken seriously or something looks funny though, I just need input on these two movies or Altman in general.... |

Tanner '88 is the piece you're thinking of. |

I concur - Altman's films are always completely hit or miss. Thus...
HIT: MASH; The Player; Kansas City; Nashville; and a forgotten gem, Fool For Love.
MISS: Popeye; Pret a Porte; Dr T and the Women |
