What comic strip would make a great non-animated movie? Cathy? Broom-Hilda? Calvin and Hobbes?

Don't do it!

The following comic strips should be abolished for all time:

Blondie

Beetle Bailey

Cathy

Dennis the Menace

The Family Circus

Peanuts

&

Popeye

I think most cartoons that have been made into live action movies with actors have been abject failures, or only appealed to ages 5 ~ 12.  Of those listed in the original post I would say . . . . Calvin and Hobbes could conceivably be made into a movie.  However, I would hate to see a live-action version of Calvin and Hobbes that really sucks majorly & reflects poorly on the comic.  It is such an interesting, inventive cartoon strip week after week, that to watch it go down in flames with human actors taking on the parts would be painful to me.  I think it is better left as a cartoon.  Look what Robin Williams did to Popeye.

A lot of the cartoon strips in the newspapers are way too old fashioned these days to have any appeal in my opinion.  I wonder how they keep going.  Who reads Family Circus, Beetle Bailey, or Wizard of Id and gets a howl out of it, let alone a chuckle?  I feel none of them should be made into movies.

Which potato chip brand would make the best new ice-cream flavor? Lays? Pringles? Doritos Cool Ranch?

Are Doritos even potato chips?

And as for the comic strip movie, I'd have to go with Too Much Coffee Man as my nominee.

To answer the original post...I'd go with something along the lines of Doonesbury or that one with Opus the penguin (don't feel like looking it up)

I like Foxtrot, but doubt it would make a good live-action pic.

How can you not love Blondie. She makes me feel wrong for reading it, but her tits are great.

Formatted Text Signatures are generally retarded. Thanks for sharing, though. - fyi

Beetle

Beetle Bailey would make a GREAT non-animated movie. I can see Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, or Mike Myers as Beetle. John Goodman or Tom Arnold would make a great Sarge. I'm thinking Tom Hanks (Think Forrest Gump) or Billy Bob Thornton (think Sling Blade) for Zero.

Dick Van Dyke would be a perfect Gen. Amos T. Halftrack. Any number of actresses could be Miss Buxley!!
