Chinese DVD sets on EBay

Hey,

Does anyone know why you can by these Chinese DVD sets (like season 2 of "24" for instance) for like $9? They all have great customer feedback, and the details on the product say the disks are all region one compatible, and that the show is spoken in english by the orignial actors, with an option for Chinese sub titles.

Most customer feedback says the only thing different from the Chinese version and the US version is the packaging.

Is this too good to be true? I mean, the US versions are going for like $30 or whatever.

They are probably illegal copies. The Chinese Govt. refuses to enforce western copyright laws, so there are entire professional operations in China dedicated to pumping out illegal copies of western media.
