yeah it just sounds like stock trailer music that every summer action movie uses nowadays. Especially popular-mythology-based action movies like comic book movies, apocalyptic aliens/endoftheworld, scifi-fantasy supreme Good vs Supreme Evil (we all know which movies these all are by now).
You know, that cathardic, "Verdi's Requiem" meets "Carmina Burana" shit with the same repeating minor, passacalglia-ish chord progression supposedly depicting the relentless fate of mankind as the plot of the movie might imply and the sound of chorus and orchestra like a legion of angels harbringing humanity's imminent doom.
Its melodramatic shmaltz, ultimately, but gets the job done for a 90 second trailer.
The War of the Worlds soundtrack is pretty damn famous. Its been the soundtrack since at least the 70s. The original was on LP long before a War of the Worlds remake was ever considered.
