Cat Ballou and/or Lonely Are The Brave

Cat Ballou question.
Nat King Cole and Stubby Kaye play two troubadours in Cat Ballou. At the end of the film they sing (I paraphrase here -- don’t remember the lyrics exactly):
“The cat escaped,
Just where she went was a mystery.
She vanished down into history,
And her legend grew.”
When they get to the end of the second line, they do a double take, looking quickly off screen, then back at the camera. I distinctly remember seeing this. But when I recently took out a tape of Cat Ballou from the library, they were singing the song from atop a wagon/stage coach, and never did the double take.
Does any one else out there remember them looking quickly off screen, or am I nuts?

Lonely Are The Brave question.
Walter Matthau chases Kirk Douglas into the mountains in this movie. Matthau is in a Jeep, Douglas on a horse. The Jeep takes a pretty good beating.
When I first saw the film (1970) I remember the Jeep breaking down and Matthau saying the transaxle was broken.
But, when I recently took the film out from the library, the Jeep never broke down. In fact, Matthau drove a Jeep to the accident scene at the film’s climax -- supposedly the same Jeep. So, did I remember the broken transaxle from a different (but similar) movie, or am I (again) just crazy?
