So I actually did a search to see what has been posted on Underworld 2. Apparantly not alot. I believe the last post (and pretty much the only post) was sometime last April.
Here are my thoughts...
I went into Underworld thinking it was going to be a stellar movie. I LOVED the premise, I loved the idea, I pretty much loved everything about it until I actually watched it. I'm not going to say it was the biggest flop. It's still watchable, but I think the problem is it was so highly disappointing. It had the potential to be a great film. One thing about that movie was there was so much history built in that was never explained. Which got me thinking, I wonder if this is from a book. Well I looked online and found out there was indeed a book. I was awestruck. Here I was thinking, awesome. It's probably an amazing book, rich in "history", conflict, great plot..etc..etc.. Until, I actually went to look for the book, and found out it didn't precede the movie. It was a book "based on the movie". That's when my disappointment came to its complete fullness. I had just finished reading "I am Legend". And was really in the mood for a great vampire-esk book. Underworld 2 focuses more on the history of the struggle. If I wasn't so disappointed with the first movie, I'd be incredibly excited about it. I still think the "idea" of the movie is incredible.
So, to make this a post that actually has some meaning, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this, but also on movies that you heard about and thought the idea/premise was fantastic... that just didn't play out in the theatres?
Re: A movie with a great premise.. that terribly missed.

I one hundred percently agree with your post. The premise vampires against werewolves is pure gold. I remember watching an episode of ghost busters the cartoon where vampires were fighting vampires and being enthralled by it's glory. Unfortunately there needs to be a good movie about it. I have yet to see underworld simply because the trailer looked, not so great. Maybe the second edition will be better... good soundtrack though.
