So this probably won't be as fun for you "big city" folk. But for someone from little ol' Nebraska, it's sort of fun.
While looking at a few movies I came across James King's filmography page on IMDB. Knowing that she was from Omaha, Ne. I clicked on her "date of birth" and followed the link... Which listed off all of the actors/directors/producers.. etc. that have Omaha, nebraska as their date of birth. So, I thought I'd have a little fun with this and see who all turned up.
Here are some of the highlights...
Nick Nolte
Alexander Payne (writer director, sideways, about schmidt and election)
(this one I just thought was funny) Josh Perilo --"Chappelle's Show" playing "Man With Travel Stenographer" (uncredited) (episode # 1.1) 22 January 2003
Tennis Pro Andy Roddick
Indy Artist Elliot Smith
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0808129/
Bob Wiltfong of the daily show with john stewart
Malcom X (not really a star or whatever, but they had him listed)
Gabrielle Union (that was news to me)
Paula Zahn -CNN
Nicholas Sparks - That crappy writer of books such as "the notebook" and "message in a bottle"
Wade Boggs - MLB
Marlon Brando
Hendry Fonda (well, technically Grand Island, Nebraska)
I guess technically also Johny Carson (born in Iowa, but moved to Norfolk, Ne)
DAMNIT... I just found out.. Vice President Dick Cheney is from Lincoln Nebraska. (now I need to leave my state.. thanks)
(how this is on IMDB?) Charles Starkweather, allegedly the first american serial killer Lincoln, Ne
Hillary Swank (who played Teena Brandon in boys don't cry, also a Nebraska native)
Anyway.. I think that's enough. Sorry, I got carried away. I didn't even know about half of these people. So, to all of you smaller town folk out there, I highly recommend trying this out. Just go to IMDB. the easiest way to search is either just by state (full state name, "usa") or with the city (city, full state name, "USA"). Most likely it will bring up no hits, under the "other searches" toward the bottom right, click on "biographies".. and away you go.
Post what you've found here.
