after reading a post by marc daniel about fox and shows being cancelled i started thinking about the simpsons. and they haven't really funny since the begining of the 16th season (i think) i think alot of this is due to neww writers and things like that but they are on their 17th season maybe it's time to throw in the towel
what do you think

I don't know if I agree, but that's just cause I haven't watched it in so many years. So maybe that on its own should tell me that it's time for simpsons to call it quits.
I think alot of that has to do with other adult (16-35+) geared cartoons gaining popularity. I used to watch South Park, then the movie came out, then I stopped wathing it, but a few seasons back I started watching again. The fact that they've started to use computers to animate the show has made it able to stay current. Sometimes they take really cheap shots, but some of their shows aimed at current events are still funny. The Beaver Damn episode (FEMA, "The Day After Tomorow", Hurricane Katrina..etc) was a good one.

Marc said something about The War at Home. I actually watch that show every week. It's not the greatest show in the world, but it is good for a few cheap laughs.

The War at Home

No, terrible show. The actor in the show (i'm not even gonna bother looking up his name) is proably one of the worst actors i've ever seen (And my old junior high play was rent and drama kids were all bickering over whether to allow the word damn in the script.) To give it a fair shot I watched the first ten minutes of the first show, I can't remeber what bothered me more, the dads voice, the seemingly casual mom who was all ok about porn, or the kid dancing to west side story music (I feel Pretty) holee shit. Thats 17 minutes of my life I want back (I counted the credits and commercial break as part of the 10)

Speaking of...

DOES IT BOTHER ANYONE ELSE THAT THEY PUT COMMERCIALS BETWEEN THE OPENING AND THE SHOW?!
