Ugh... was that a review? (Walk the Line)

Let me say for starters that I thought Walk the Line was a great movie, the performances were awesome, and the music was eerie in how authentic it was. I am a big Johnny Cash fan, so my opinion may well be biased, but it certaintly is better than most biopics out there.

But WTF was that review? Todd did the same thing with The Longest Yard, but at least that was a stupid movie with no expectations. I usually enjoy Todd's reviews, but sometimes he seems to just get lazy and just make up some blah blah blah crap. I mean, was that funny to anyone? Did it reveal anything about the movie? Horrible, just horrible. Reminds me of a scene in the movie where Cash confronts his father, and the father replies, "God never gave me talent, but I did the best I could with what I had. Can you say the same?" Well, Todd has talent, but he sure didn't do the best he could with it here.

Walk the Line: Four Cookies.

Todd's Review: Zero Cookies.

I wasn't trying to be mean...

If I came off that way I do apologize. I mean, I did say that I usually like his reviews and that he is talented, so it didn't seem too mean to me, but I know that EVERYONE loves Todd and that we are all quick to jump to his defense. Sorry again, Todd-Lovers!

I read over the review.  It wasn't a conventional review, but it was funny.  I laughed out loud a couple of times.

I don't presume to know what Todd was thinking when he wrote it, but I'm guessing that he was in a kind of goofy mood and decided that he'd like to write a parody of the movie business.  The review was a lot like the one he wrote for The Longest Yard.

I snorfed when I read this:

Joqueen: I am Joqueen Phoenix.

Agent: ... great. What's up?

Joqueen: You know who Johnny Cash is?

Agent: He's like Eddie Money but different?

I mean c'mon, that's some funny shit isn't it?

I was particlary fond of this one

Agent: Hey! Maybe Kathy Bates could play the psychic...

Joqueen: Is she Roseanne?

Agent: Who?

Joqueen: Kathy... Roseanne.

Agent: No umm.. Kathy Bates is umm.. Kathy Bates. Roseanne... isn't.... and Kathy Roseanne is neither.

Joqueen: Good.

AND

Agent: Hello?

Joqueen: Hello. Who's this?

Agent: Me.

Joqueen: Who's me?

Agent: I'm me!

Joqueen: I know that! I meant me me not you me. Who's me??

Agent: I'm me! You're you! You're your me!

Joqueen: I see...
