I hate Paul Walker. My father once told me, "You don't really hate anyone son, you might dislike them, but you don't hate them." I really hate Paul Walker.
But the writer/director's earlier works sold me, the trailer sold me, the insane amount of profanity and violence I saw in various clips REALLY sold me.
I can't believe I am gonna say this, 'Running Scared' was the best film I've seen in months. Now, I should mention that if you like the crime-mafia-caper-dramedy genre, then this is a no-brainer. However, (and not in a means to oversell it - it's just that I shared the theater with only 3 other people, and I think it would be a shame if that friggin' Disney Arctic dog flick gets more money than it deserves) there's a reason this a flick that didn't go stright to DVD
OK - bullet points:
1) Even if you don't like Paul Walker (like me), he actually does a pretty convincing job in this role.
2) Plot twists aplenty - and one of them in particular WILL make you say, "WTF?!"
3) Like Tarantino? You'll like this. Don't like Tarantino? You'll like this.
4) No, this isn't the re-release of that 1985 Billy Crystal/Gregory Hines movie (which was also pretty good).
5) Did I mention that Paul Walker gets the hell beat outta him in this? Score!
