So I entered this contest, and wouldn't ya know, I won! Well, with 10 other people too, but, I still won!
So in a few days, I'm gonna receive the 2-disc version of 'Munich', which by my account was the best movie (that was nominated) this year.
It's long, like 3 hours (and it feels like 3 hours, believe me), but it's far more thought-provoking than say, 'Brokeback' or 'Crash'. The latter, for instance, was so friggin' cut and dry, 'Racism = Bad; Here are the ramifactions'. Whereas, 'Munich', you're constantly asking yourself, 'What's the moral here? What's justice, per se?'
Eh, maybe I just like flicks that protray the 70s well, I mean I like 'Dazed and Confused' and that shouldn't be in the same category as 'Munich', right?
after seeing this movie once, i thought this was one of the best speilburg's done in a while. I'm actually kinda jealous. I've been looking forward to this movie coming out on DVD for a long time (well since it was in the theaters) so I'm buying it tomorrow with the rest of the regular joes. Congrats on winning! but damn you for one upping my DVD collection.
In my opinion crash was one of the most pathetic movies I've seen in a while. It just plays off the average person's guilt of being somewhat racist. In fact it was even reverse racist to some degree; all whites were evil and anyone of any other ethnic backround was a saint... They even played off the carjackers as being good little boys.
