Actually doing a guy on camera in a supposedly legit movie goes well beyond getting into character in my opinion. Supposing a scene called for Chloe to be beaten senseless with a baseball bat . . . would she do that for the sake of "keeping in character."? I tend to think not.
In the Jodie Foster movie Accused Jodie Foster plays the part of a woman that was gang raped. Should she have gotten into the part and . . . . well . . . . I won't get into graphic detail here, but I think the point is made.
