Da Vinci uncoded or recoded?

I also saw the DV Code this weekend and although I disagreed with Todd's review, don't know that I would have given it another cookie either.

I thought the cinemetography was great and the shots of Europe always make me happy. I had not read the book so I did feel I had to pay attention during certain scenes, while others, had I known they were filler, I would have taken the opportunity to visit the ladies room.

Performances I thought were ok; I found it difficult to figure out, [or even care] who was on who's side. Maybe if I were more religious I would feel more passionate about the topic. But I don't, so there it is.

All in all, if you have a big screen TV, put it on your Netflix Que. I think this would be a good date movie, as the ladies might be somewhat enthralled and there are enough gaps [and 2 1/2 hours] for the guys to make their move.

I'll see it eventually because I read the novel.

I'm in no rush to go though. I'll probably wait for it to come on TV or DVD.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... *snorkk!*

Oh, it's over.

Man, that was one terrible movie. It was way too long, terribly acted (a huge surprise considering Hanks and Howard), and - being a student of history - pretty inaccurate on the historical aspects.

I don't know how most Catholics feel about the movie, but I can certainly see why they would be pissed (and I'm Jewish!). I had a class on European Christianity, which was one of my favorites. The whole thing about the Church Council at Nicaea was inaccurate. Constantine had nothing to do with the calling of nor the decisions made by the Council. Also, the Knights Templar were eradicated by a king in Europe who thought they were working with a political rival, not the pope.

And why was it sooooooooo long?

And what is it with this Opus Dei obsession? I Googled them, and they're not so secret.

I know, I know. Maybe I should convert.
