Oh, it's over.
Man, that was one terrible movie. It was way too long, terribly acted (a huge surprise considering Hanks and Howard), and - being a student of history - pretty inaccurate on the historical aspects.
I don't know how most Catholics feel about the movie, but I can certainly see why they would be pissed (and I'm Jewish!). I had a class on European Christianity, which was one of my favorites. The whole thing about the Church Council at Nicaea was inaccurate. Constantine had nothing to do with the calling of nor the decisions made by the Council. Also, the Knights Templar were eradicated by a king in Europe who thought they were working with a political rival, not the pope.
And why was it sooooooooo long?
And what is it with this Opus Dei obsession? I Googled them, and they're not so secret.
I know, I know. Maybe I should convert.
