OK, so I'm not surprised that 'Superduperman' made 80+ million dollars over the weekend, what I AM suprised is that 'The Devil Wears Prada' made almost 30 million?!?

While I don't love/hate Meryl Streep and/or Anne Hathaway, do you mean to tell me that EVERY girlfriend dragged their boyfriend to see this?! - 'Cause I don't see any other scenario.

Mind you, it doesn't look terrible, in fact, it looks Netflix/DVD good. It just doesn't look like '27 million opening weekend good' I guess the word got around pretty quick about that Adam Sandler flick.

the wifey dragged me to this one and I have to admit- it was actually pretty good. I know, time to turn in my pens to the man police, but srsly- it was 200% better than Superman. Ann Hathaway is teh hawt too.

women's opinion

As a woman, I read the book and thought it was kuh-rap; I found myself throwing it across the room about 2/3's of the way through. Perhaps this was because I've had bosses like the Streep character and seeing it in print was just too much to bear. Or maybe it was the whiney-esque tone of the narration. Hard to say.

Why I would see this movie is mostly due to Ms. Streep. [Anne Hathaway bugs me but I don't know why.] Instead of showing the standard preview for this movie, they actually showed a 2-5 minute clip of the movie [the interview] and watching her performance, along with then watching her in Praire Home Companion afterwards, was an excellent example of what kind of diverse actress she is.

But not sure I'd pay evening prices for it. Maybe a matinee. Or netflix if I ever replace my broken dvd player.
