The only comic book movie that I can recall really enjoying (enough to own the DVD anyway) is Batman Begins.

When I was a boy, one of my favorites was Flash Gordon. I was just old enough to appreciate Dale Arden and Princess Aura. The movie also had a Queen soundtrack. I was old enough to appreciate the considerable talents of Ornella Muti but not old enough to realize that Freddie Mercury was flaming.

In hindsight, the whole movie is kitschy, Sam Jones as Flash was wooden and Max von Sydow chewed up the scenery but Melody Anderson and Ornella Muti are as beautiful as I remember them.

Ah yes Flash Gordon... the Jets quarterback that ends up saving the world. The King of Impossible! I don't think I've seen this on DVD but the sound track is out and it kicks a large quantity of ass!
