So among the list of "flicks we are looking forward to" [this list getting shorter and shorter], no one has mentioned the new Mel Gibson project "Apocolypto". I took a Middle American Anthropology class many years ago so I have to say to me it looks interesting. But Mel always seems to have something to prove and not really into watching gore for the sake of appreciating another person's sacrafice. [I have plenty of visualizing capabilities and can appreciate a sacrafice without seeing it, thankyou.]
Anyone see a preview or pre-screening and have an opinion?
Hard to say. Mel completely screwed the pooch PR-wise with his recent rant on our Jewish friends but he had a lot of loyal fans from Passion of the Christ [that may not have been bothered by those comments]. I'm going to say at least 25M opening weekend but I think I'm low balling it.
Hmm, Apolocrapto or Brood Diamond - Frankly, I could care less about either. Do you have to see one? Ugh.
When and if you see Sly, just ask, "Sly! Sly! Over here! Yes, hey with another 'Rocky' film and soon another 'Rambo' film, any chance for a 'Cobra' sequel or maybe (crossed fingers) 'Tango and Cash'?"
I don't want to see Crapalypto at all, and I'm going to Blood Diamond just because I love Leo, so I guess I would go with that. But both look really bleck, so you should probably just save your time.
As for the Q&A, Marc had the right idea, but just can't seem to see it through to greatness, as usual.
