Mr. Brooks

Check this flick out. They haven't exactly been promoting the hell out of it, but it was a packed theater and the overall response seemed really positive. It was excellent. Some good full frontal nudity, some nice grisly violence, and the loudest gunshots I've ever heard in a theater. I only have two complaints. Dane Cook, while not totally unwatchable, wasn't good, and took me out of the movie a bit. I would have rather seen a scrawny character actor in his place. And the real ending to this movie is clear, but they tacked on a completely unnecessary 3 minutes at the end that cheapened the whole thing. Overall, solid and worth seeing.

Saw this the other night. Meh. It's not terrible, but is pretty boring for the most part. The daughter role should have been written out of the script. Demi Moore and Dane Cook were mostly distractions (particularly annoying were all the people in the theater who like Dane a bit too much and LAUGHED AT EVERYTHING HE SAID. Note: his was not a comedic role.).

Costner was pretty good, but not all that crazy. Marg Helgenberger (CSI) was wasted.

Good song they used towards the end. Just looked it up: Viscious Traditions by The Veils. Sample here:

Yeah I was surprised by this movie also... usually Costner is a no emotion no talent robot... but since he played a no emotion no talent robot killer... alls he had to do was memorize lines. It worked decent in my opinion. Up until the last that is.
