I'll watch it...but I'm not gonna go pay actual money to see it. I turned up my nose at "Bruce Almighty" until I was dragged off to see it one night, and it wasn't all that horrible. Plus I think I have a thing for Carell. This one does look less likely to be funny, given all the cheap-shot animal excrement humor that is probably lurking around. We'll see.
I'm not ready to condemn it yet... Stevie seems to have a knack of rescuing movies that appear to be dog shit in previews and making them a mildly entertaining experience.
I'll see it. I thought Steve Carrell was the best part of Bruce Almighty. Especially the part when Jim Carrey makes him speak jibberish on the air. I mean, Steve carried that whole scene. I still crack up just thinking about it...and the guy does it with a straight face. C'mon, people. Watch the outtakes and see how hard it was for him to do that.
Evan Almighty . . . one name: Steve Odekerk; he wrote the screenplay and story. He is so singularly unfunny it is a wonder he gets work in Hollywood. I read another review . . . and it got 1.5 stars.
Too bad for Steve Carell. He is very funny on The Office & his scene in Evan Almighty was one of the bright spots in that film.
From the review though Evan Almighty sounds as bad as Joe Dirt.
